I had to keep switching channels to see Nationals exhibitions and Scott's show. Both good. I enjoyed Scott skating with Brian Orser. And good live music. Nice show. Great group number in red and white. Interesting costumes. And nice to see all the men from the 84 Olympic podium 20 years later.

I thought the show was okay, but out of all of these NBC exhibition shows that have been on I think Kurt's was the best.

As for Scott's, the only parts I really liked were Jozef, Brian, and Scott, and also Yuka and Jason. Other than that, they did not really utilize the rest of the cast much, and the cast did not seem all that well rounded this year.

I hate to say this, as much of a Scott fan I used to be, but I feel like he is trying to over publicize himself this year. First we have this Best of SOI a week or so ago, which seemed like a Scott and SOI infomercial. Now we have his exhibition show, and it seemed as if Scott was on quite a bit to the expense of other skaters in the show. Maybe it is just me, but something seems different about Scott this year.

Overall, in review of all of these shows, with as few pro events as there are now, the absence of some skaters at particular shows seemed strange. It could be various skaters were not available at the time of the show or chose not to, but things like Kristi not being in Scott's show, Kurt not being in Scott's show and Scott not in Kurt's, Ilia and Katia rarely being in the same show (usually just one or the other), and Jenni and Todd being in almost all of them instead of S/P or B/S. Again, I realize there are many reasons and negotiations in regard to the skaters that perform in a show, but found some of the situations kind of strange.

Kristi only skated in Brian's show because she had a baby. She didn't even skate in her own show even though she tried to do the opening & closing. It was just too soon. Her baby was due right at the beginning of when all these shows were taping. From what I read, Brian had to really twist her arm and created the Lady in Red feature for her in his special with no jumps. She just wasn't ready to skate this fall. I would expect to see her in several specials next year. She doesn't start her guest spots until mid-Feb. for SOI. Probably so she can get her jumping legs back. Kristi is the ultimate skaters skater. She have kept her techincal difficulty for years longer than most proskaters, especially the ladies. I bet she even tries to put her lutz in her program this winter.

I knew she had a baby and that was probably why she wasn't in many specials,-- she was just one of the examples I used in my post. I think with her it surprised me to see her in Brian's special, and not Scott's, but your explanation explains that.
