There's lots of 5.9, 6.0's out there, but when has there ever 2 perfect 6.0's???

I think Michelle Kwan got 2 6.0s for her artistic program at World Pros in 1998 (that was the year they made it a pro-am). The program was "East of Eden."

That tidbit resurfaced 2 years ago when people were trying to find the history of the woman who was going to be the German judge at the Oly ladies comp - she was the judge who gave the 2 6.0s. As it happened at the Olys, the woman put MK first in the SP and 2nd in the LP (behind Sarah but ahead of Irina), essentially voting Michelle the gold medal.

Torvill & Dean got 6.0 for both marks in:

1984 Olympics FD (3 for tech, 9 for art)
1984 Worlds FD (4 for tech, 9 for art)

I think they did that at other times too (like 94 Brit nationals). Can't think off the top of my head of the other times, but I know they got about 14 6.0s for tech over the years (something like that).

ok - t&d 6.0s in both tech and pres:

1981/1982 British national free dance (Mack and Mabel): T2 P7

1982 Europeans free dance (Mack and Mabel): T3 P8

1983 Worlds osp (Variations on Paganini): T1 P6

1984 Europeans free dance (Bolero): T3 P8

1984 Olympics osp (Capriccio espagnol): T1 P3

1984 Olympics free dance (Bolero): T3 P9

1984 Worlds free dance (Bolero): T4 P9

1994 British national free dance (Let's face the music): T1 P9

(altogether 155 6.0s in eligible competition - all the 6.0s not mentioned were either presentation marks or marks for compulsories which sort of were mixed presentation and tech)

Michelle, Alexei and T&D so far... anyone else?

What I am particularly interested in is when a single judge gives 6.0 for both marks, and at a major amateur competition.

Gordeeva & Grinkov?
Klimova & Ponomerko?
Annisina & Peizerat?
Mishtetunok & Dmitriev?
Yamaguchi?
Browning?
Boitano?

Where's Louis when I need him....

Slightly off topic, but ... you might be interested in this Debbi Wilkes article from a year ago about "perfection" and the 6.0.

Didn't the Chineese pair get 6.0's in both at worlds last year?

Donald Jackson is still in the Guinness Book of Records for having received seven 6.0's at Worlds in 1962. I don't know if there were any 6.0/6.0 combinations, though.

I think they did, and they may have also done so at Four Continents last year too.

I remember at the 1998 Canadian nationals, Bourne & Kraatz and Elvis Stojko both had sixes in both sets of marks in their free programs. I don't know if any one judge gave them two sixes though.

Where's Louis when I need him.... Becasue I love to be a broken record.....I hope none of those marks were given to any skater who skated before the last skater. Because, that mark should be illegal!
