What an awesome competition last night! Michelle was great, she really deserved to win! I think she was in shock afterwards :D Although, I must say that Sasha didn't deserve that 6.0 after falling during her performance, but she still did great :P

I'd have to say or what! She sooo needed Sasha to fall.
Like I've said in the past, Michelle bores me to no end.
I don't see anything to her. Her programs have not changed
one bit (boring!) Someone needs to light a fire under her *** not just the flapping of her arms the last few seconds! Please!
Hey Michelle... Try harder jumps, new artisty, different music
Then maybe....
AND PLEASE learn how to speak on camera :)

 This whole post, and the many that are EXACTLY like it, are not unique. If you're your going to hate on a skater, at least spare us the repetition.

If you don't like her or her style, then why even post here in this thread?? If you think that you can show her how it's done with the skating, and how to appear on camera... then go show her.

What's up with the criticism? Michelle was great at nationals, & not just at the end of the performance. She had loads of energy, & had several 6.0s! She totally deserved that score & the national title. If you don't like her, fine, that's your opinion. But please don't trash her, especially here!

Very true Bondo... I guess if you want to be technical about the OP title she, did in fact ask 2 questions... I doubt very much the OP meant it that way, but you are correct. BUT that still doesn't count out me wanting kurtfan to go out and show Michelle how it's all really done.

There is something that MK has that Sasha just doesn't - - - despite the superior extensions, etc... MK skates with an emotional connection between herself, the judges, and the fans. That's why she's so good, and it allows her to make even a program with a lot of crossovers emotionally interesting. In person this difference is really noticable.

I have to admit, Michelle does bore me at times. BUT at Nationals she was on all the way. She had excitement and was simply the best that night. I was excited to see her skate like that again. She owned the ice that night, that is why she won and had all those 6.0's!

I have to agree. I watched on tv this year and was totally brought into her performance. So was my husband who is not particularly a skating fan. That is the element Michelle lacked in her last two Olympic skates!

I am going to assume that "the World" competition has now been viewed by those who wanted to see it. And, you know what happens when one assumes!http://cdn-cf.aol.com/se/smi/0201d20716/15 It was on channel 13 here local TV.
What do you think of that man who appeared on the ice right as Michelle took the ice? Stripping off his clothes to revel a tutu and a very icky hairy back!http://cdn-cf.aol.com/se/smi/0201d20716/07
At Worlds, no less! Where is the security for the skaters? I was glad to see Michelle regained her composure and concentration and performed what I thought was a better skate than Sasha's.
This is the Michelle who can win gold at the Olympics.

I still love Michelle Kwan! She skates with more emotion than any other lady. It's in *her*, not just in a couple of performances. Her overall skating is great - she has a lot of speed and power, she has great spins and jumps, great footwork, she has a mental toughness that shines through even if she messes up in her program because she bounces back. I have a lot of respect for her as a person. She is very mature, she has her head on her shoulders, she knows there's life outside of skating (eg. going to university), she hasn't let success get to her head, she's humble and not arrogant, she knows how to accept defeat when she hasn't won, she knows how to pick herself up. She is a great role model both as a skater and as a person! Whether or not she wins an Olympic gold medal, she has etched her name in the history of figure skating as one of the greatest skaters of all time and I won't be surprised to see her one day in the Hall of Fame.
