My sister and I went to the COI in Anaheim last night! It was pretty good and a lot of fun. We had decent seats, lower level kinda on the side. Shae Lyn and Victor both cut their hair. Almost didn't recognize them. Alot of the skaters fell or messed up their jumps.

During intermission we saw several skaters not performing in the show just there to watch I guess. There was Meno and Sand (she's really tiny), Paul Wylie and I think his wife, Steven Cousins (very cute), and I think that's it. They were all talking to each other, looking happy, laughing. I don't think any fans were bothering them.

Let's see, what else, Michelle Kwan's FOG was stunning. She's the only one who got a partial standing ovation, loudest applause. But Sasha and Sarah also got good applause. Sarah caught an edge or something when she was doing her performance (while she was skating backwards) and she landed right on her back and slid for a couple seconds. It looked painful. I felt bad for her.

Hmmm, don't know what else to write right now. Irina's hair looks like it's growing out a bit. It looked cute.

Hi laila! I was there too. Yes, almost all of the skaters seemed to have an off-night. My highlights were Anissina and Peizerat (I thought they were wonderful), Kazakova and Dmitriev, the two novelty acts (Irina Grigorian and Besedin and Polishuk) and seeing Sasha Cohen and Nicole Bobek is always a treat. Sarah's fall was sort of like Maria Butyrskaya's at the 98 Worlds...very odd. I think she shrugged it off well though and managed to redeem herself by the end. I enjoyed seeing her smile.

Speaking of haircuts, did you notice that Isabelle Brasseur's was very short too! I wonder if the Canadians didn't all go to a barber together! LOL!

Oh and I've never been a Philippe Candeloro fan, but I have to admit his personality fills the arena!

And it was also a treat to see Fumie Suguri. I wasn't expecting to see her!

I was there too! I agree with everything Purplecat said. I think everybody was a little bit off since it was the second show of the day and everyone was tired. A&P, K&D, and L&T were great. Sasha also needs to get a choreographer--there was a lot of stroking around with Hernando's Hideaway. I didn't really get P&S's act except that it seemed like a story of lonely corporate drudges finding romance. Isabelle's hair was shorter. (She walked out to the bus with her little girl who was adorable.) The Canadian barber didn't get to Elvis though. It also looked like a few skaters had gained a little weight. This was the second time I've seen Michelle's FOG; the first time was at Nationals. I never get tired of it. Fumie was a treat.

This was probably the most sedate audience I've ever seen at the Pond. I'm surprised the audience didn't seem to know who B&K were--applause was really lukewarm.

[color=darkblue:a96c84c539]Y'all should have gone to Long Beach two days before. The seats were $15.00 cheaper, and there was only one fall!![/color:a96c84c539]

I hope Sarah's ok--It sounded like a rather harsh fall. :(

Just to clarify a bit...there really weren't a lot of falls, more little mistakes...hand down here, step out there, popped jump here, etc. It was still a good show and great to see so many great skaters.

And CMc, I wouldn't worry about Sarah. It was more an embarrassing fall than a dangerous one. She sort of fell backwards on nothing in particular and slid for a bit before she could get to her feet. I think she landed all her jumps in her program (including after her fall) only doubling the salchow (which was prior to her fall). I'm sure she's fine and dandy! :)

Thanks for your coments. I can't believe they're still going strong...tough skaters!

Can anyone give us the triple run-down on Sarah, Fumie, and Sasha? Was anyone clean?

Also, did Fumie skate to Evita? Thank you :D .

Hi Kara. I didn't take notes, but this is what I think they did that night:

Fumie did a pop song with the background music being Pachabel's Canon. She popped her lutz jump...I think into a single, but she did a triple toe, a double axel and a triple flip (I believe).

Sasha did a double axel, had trouble with the triple lutz (I couldn't quite see it since it was on the other end...I think she put her hand down, but couldn't tell), did a triple salchow with a foot touch down and a clean triple toe.

Sarah did a double axel, a double salchow, a triple loop and a triple toe (I believe) with that odd fall in the middle of the program.

Anyone else who was there, feel free to correct me!!! This is my foggy memory! :D
