I was curious about this book. I saw an ad for it in IFS magazine and I was wondering if anyone has picked it up yet. Without giving away the ending would you make it suggested reading or was it just fluff? I usually enjoy mysteries and I like figure skating so I was wondering if it was worth my time. Thanks in advance.

I'd actually seen it in a chain store, but didn't have the time to take a look. Was quite surprised to see it.

Never heard of it until your post. But I found a couple of reviews on it at Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0425193071/qid=1073093542/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-5562282-7022534?v=glance&s=books
The reviews are towards the bottom of the page.

Just checked the book out of the library last week. It was okay. It appears to be the first of a detective series. The end of the book has a chapter from the author's next ice skating mystery. Anyway, I'd suggest checking it out of the library rather than buying it, if possible.

I enjoyed it - it kept my interest and I finished it in 2 days. Lots of similarities to the Olympics so it brought back memories. I especially enjoyed the cynical humor and very 'american' wording and references to things only americans would understand (so couldn't buy another copy to send to friends in UK.)
It is a light read and you might consider it 'fluff' but there is nil out there in fiction with skating as its venue. I say go for it.

Thanks for the tip. When I read these posts I immediately put a hold on it at the library. :)

Purchased it over the Christmas holidays and read it then. I thought of it as a cozy---one of those late night reads when the weather is awful and you just want some hot chocolate and something that is not taxing to read. I enjoyed all of the skating references--particularly the references to the job that Bex (our sleuth)was hired to do for the network. Sounds like interesting but thankless work.
Alina--if you read this thanks for writing a fun mystery about the skating world. I'm a mystery buff and have been waiting for a skating mystery for some time now. Your bio states you did the same sort of work Bex did. If that is so....oh the stories you could tell.. ;)
