I thought they were suppose to be debuting a new website? I seem to recall reading something about a new website in their October issue of Skating Magazine and that it was suppose to have debuted by now???

I'm told the new US Figure Skating website should be launched before Nationals... we shall see!

Here's the announcement. Note that it says that the redirect from the old site to the new one will not be working for several days.

Looks like their ISP worked faster than they thought. Usfsa.org does work, at least it did when I just tried it. I forgot they were doing a redesign. My preliminary judgment: thumbs down. :(
As someone who used to work in a website department (I'm a marketing person), my experience confirms for me that the writing is too small, the layout too cluttered, and most importantly, what happened to the archives? The farthest it seems to go back is the summer of 2001. In fact, I remember when they redesigned the site the last time, they said the older events (pre-2000) would be added when they got more server space. That never happened. Now, they've taken away more. I just sent an e-mail to their web person (found on the Contact Us page) asking about it.
Also it does not appear that they have created a special section for Nationals, as the links for backstage photos, results, etc don't appear to be up, but maybe they'll fix that by Sunday. After all, Novice events will have begun, not to mention all the draws for the SPs/CDs.
And whose bright idea was it to do a redesign in the middle of the USFSA's biggest event of the year? Given the tech challenges and inevitable mishaps that can occur with page transfers, this is something that shoud have been done in October or November, to give them time to work out the kinks. And with most of their staff in Atlanta this week, any large-scale problem with the site might take a while to fix. Thank goodness for Sandra Loosemore's site. Does anybody know if Adrian is going to Nats? Adrian? :)
