In 2001 I won tickets for the 2001 World Championship Freedance but I
could not attend because they were in Vancouver. I had to give them
to a relative of mine who lived in Surrey, BC ( a burb of Vancouver).
This year, I get to actually use the tickets I won. I entered the
contest for them last Friday when CBC held their skating party at my
rink. I went there to skate even though my club's ice was cancelled
because I wanted to practice my elements before our Christmas show
and of the off chance to get interviewed. Well, I practiced and was
asked to do an interview and today because I dropped a ballot in the
box for the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, I won a
pair of tickets for Friday's Free Dance and Ladies Free Skate.
My local CBC station called me this morning while I have a splitting
headache to tell me about me winning. I'll be picking up the tickets
tomorrow.
