I just wanted to post the reveiw of the Holidayon Ice Dreams show on A&E today. The skaters included Katia Gordeeva,Paul While,Osana Baiul (forgive my spellings) as well as Isabelle Bursur, and many more. Daria Gordeeva Grinkova was a co-host as well and has even osstounded the Skating Would with her ability to do a Deaf Spill at only 12 years of age!!!!! She sure learns FAST that girl!!!! Anyone else see it?

I could not believe how grown up she was. I think the last time I saw here she was four, how did get to 12 so fast? She really looks like her Dad. Does anyone else find that? She is a cutie.

Daria's actually 11, not 12 (A&E got her age wrong). And she didn't do a "death spiral" with Paul -- it was more like a swing around lift/twirl with him holding on to her arm and leg.

I watched my tape this afternoon and for the first time in a long time I did not find myself fast-forwarding through all the 'old' skaters/routines. I found it a really nice blend of pros and 4 up comers and they held their own quite nicely. Roz (who I always found grating) was actually relaxed and kept the talking to a minimum. Nor did the program drip with Holiday gush. Daria is a natural - 12 yr old alread!?

I wonder who put the cast together (agents) and who decided to bring in the eligible skaters, and how did they convince the USFSA to give them permission to do it - great exposure for them!! I don't care how many retakes they had to do after the show - the editing for TV made a really nice program to watch. Good for A&E!

This was one of the best skating programs I've seen in a long time. I loved the fact that they had such a broad range of skaters and styles. There was truly something for every skating fan's taste in this show.

The highlights for me were Paul and Daria's number(I loved how they related to each other) and both of Ilia Kulik's numbers. He's really opened up expression wise since turning pro.
I also agree about Daria's commentating. She seemed so natural and really helped to mellow Roz out.

Unfortunately, they only showed one of Ilia's solos. He also skated to A House Is Not a Home (beautifully). His brief segue with Katia was gorgeous, though.

Paul looks wonderful and so does Elvis! There is still so much command and power in Elvis' skating that was a delight to see.

I agree...this was the best pro show I've seen in years.

The highlight for me was Paul Wylie's spin...gawd, it was great! And it was such a shock because I just didn't expect him to skate like that!

I adore all those skaters, but was especially happy to see Katia skate. Of course, I always love Ilia...he is my all time fave along with Sasha Cohen.

Daria has her mom's eyes! I love seeing her...and I like touching base with the narrative of people's lives...its like, once you have prayed and prayed for someone, you appreciate knowing they are ok, even thuogh their real lives are quite distant.

I wish they would air it again! It was all just neat...very family directed...and yet very high quality skating.

I love Paul, and I am glad he asserted his faith, thank God, everyone in America has the right to do so, and should, but there are other religions which celebrate Christmas, and for them it is something different...I love them all, and they are welcome, IMHO. All are invited...even the tax collector, whose name might be John.

Oh, yes indeed -- no argument here. I'm just saying that Christmas has a specific meaning, no matter who's celebrating it or how they like to celebrate it -- just as Hanukkah (sp?) has a specific meaning (the lights that kept burning in the Temple for eight days, if I remember correctly) -- and we do any holiday a disservice when we try to say, "We don't care for that meaning, so we'll just make up another one that sounds nice." So I liked when Paul said what that meaning was.

Who's John the tax collector? I'm confused! :-)

Perhaps I missed this part of my Religious History class, but what religions besides Christianity celebrate Christmas? Celebrate, vs. acknowledge.
