I just got my tickets for Nationals! Is there a folder for discussion of Nationals that this thread should be in? I have some questions about the "vip club" tickets and exactly what that means. Did anyone else get theirs?

Yes! We got great seats. They are in section 101, row C. It turns out that in that section (which is the corner), row C is the first row!!! Also, they replied to me from Atlanta that vip club has it's own entrance, bathrooms and restaurants, which should be convenient. Eating is always a hassle at Nationals!!!

When I went to World Gymnastics Championships in Anaheim in August, I too had their VIP tickets. What a great deal! Not only were we fed everyday but the entrance to the colliseum alone was worth the price. No waiting in huge lines through security screens, we just went to the VIP entrance, got scanned and we were in. I sure hope your Atlanta tickets are as good as mine were in Anaheim, I'd pay that price all over again.

Me too skipaway. We usually get vip tix and some Nationals give you better benefits than others. It sounds like this one is going to be great!
How did you find out that row C was the first row in your section? I also got row C (section 121) and would love another reason to hop around, extra giddy. If it's first row, wow! I was excited just assuming it was the third row.

I contacted the email address at their website to ask a different question and they just told me that row C at the end was row one!
Thanks, lilwish! I'll send them an email in hopes of a nice surprise.
Hee, mikey--I'll try not to block your view!

We have row A at the end of the rink. Do you suppose that is two rows on the ice?
The seating at one end of the rink (http://www.philipsarena.com/st0300/seatTix/seatTixThrashChart.shtml) is sliced back for ice events, the other isn't.

I don't know if I should start a new thread. I thought last year there was a Nationals folder. I am wondering where are good, cheap places to eat near the arena and near the hotels. We are staying at The Ritz so eating there will be costly but I know there are many places near there and I think I have been told the underground has many shops and places to eat. Is there a market near the hotel area? We usually like to buy sandwich meats and peanut butter and yogurt etc. Also, does Atlanta have cofffee shops (not coffee houses) but a place to have a good, not expensive breakfast. In Cleveland, we never figured out what they called this type of restaurant. I am talking about a Diner or a Denny's or Carrow's or Coco's. Or even and Ihop, although a local place would be better. Anything we should see no matter how little time we have?
Thanks! I am told that the people in Atlanta are welcoming and friendly. I am excited to visit!

I have been to Atlanta several times and can recommend the tour of CNN. I did it pre 9-11 but it shouldn't have changed much. Also the World of Coca Cola is very interesting---plus free samples.

How exciting for those with tickets. Are you guys planning on attending every event possible during that week? I tried that at Worlds last year and, it was just too much skating. My brain got fried by mid week.

MQ, couldn't afford it all! I'm just going to the short programs on thursday. I get to see the men's and women's short programs for one price.

It IS a lot of skating. You have to pick and choose. We used to go to most of the junior events but now we go to more practices. It also depends on which skaters attend. When a favorite is at Nationals, I like to go to as many practices as possible. My mother and I go together and neither one of us is crazy about Ice Dancing so we usually use the time of those events to shop or rest or play scrabble. You do have to pace yourself because an entire week of skating can be exhausting, no matter how much fun it is!
