I am told that their rendition of "The Nutcracker" for their long program this year is truely fantastic. Does anyone know the title of the excerpt that they are using? It isn't one of the more traditional parts such as those found in the suite (Waltz of the Flowers, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Russian Dance etc.), it's a different part, but I don't know what it's called. If anyone knows it would be a great help! Thanks

I believe it is known as the "Pas de Deux" of "The Nutcracker".

Purplecat is correct. It is the Pas de Deux (my neighbor used to pronounce that "Pass de Ducks" Wrong but funny.) between the Sugar Plum Fairy and her cavalier. Bechke and Petrov skated to the same piece in 1992. However, the music editing is slightly different.
It is a lovely program and Shen and Zhao have made great progress on their presentation skills in this program.

You know, I was going to post that the "fantasticness" of S&Z's program is definitely a matter of opinion but I think I will hold off til I see it again. Personally, I cannot stand the music they are skating to - it's too boring for words. But that doesn't mean that they don't have a lovely LP with difficult and interesting choreo. I think I've been letting my hatred of the music colour my opinion of the of the program, which isn't entirely fair. Looking forward to (finally!!!) seeing more skating on TV to see this one again with fresh eyes and as closed ears as possible ;) .
