He's got the last GP competitions of the season so he can recover and train up for them. He's off the ice until early August.
Hope he gets a good recovery and rest and comes back stonger after.

[color=indigo:2d07122ef6]Adrian - thanks so very much for the link. Johnny is one of my very favorites, and I had no idea what was going on with him. I had a rod put in my tibia a couple of years ago. I think he made the right decision. Although the rod was not such a big deal, and neither was the surgery, the rehab time was about the same as if I had just sat with my leg up for 8 weeks.
I can totally see Johnny taking on a character. I think he has amazing artistic ability - a la Sasha - and it will be wonderful to see him take on another personna.
Any chance he will keep Umbrellas as his short?
Was he injured last year?[/color:2d07122ef6]

Thanks for the link. Johnny is one of my favorites, too. He was wonderful in Philadelphia at COI and I got to meet him at the hotel in New haven after the spring pro-am. Very appreciative of his fans. I wish him well with his injury and hope that his future is a bright one.

Adrian, thanks so much for the link on Johnny. I hope he makes a complete recovery & won't need surgery. He is such a gifted athlete and I know he'll go far in the sport.

Thanks.
Johnney is one of my faves too...and I love reading his journal. He seems such a classy and open person, and I can't wait to see his program. For me, he is potentially in the Abt/Honda league...everything he does is interesting, detailed and high quality, and lots of footwork with changes of direction woven into the programs.
I was watching Abt and Honda at SLC last night...boy, talk about connecting footwork and elements, Abt never stops. Honda has just slightly less of that, and he is always on a line, always doing something interesting on a whole body line...really great skating, even when they miss the jumps, and Wier is like that too.
Honda is the kind of skater that can make me even like Don Quixote, LOL! He really skated the heck out of that music last season, IMHO.
Hope you're feeling better soon, Johnny :D .
