I heard that Aanya Reiten landed a triple-triple at Pacific Sectionals!!! Good for her!!! Anyone know anything more about her???
Also, anyone know what happened to Samira Banna? I haven't seen her since 2001 Nationals.:P

Reiten, 17, landed 3toe-3toe in both her senior SP and FS at Pacific Coast Sectionals to place 2nd overall and qualify for her first senior nationals. Here's her bio at Unseen Skaters:

Samira Banna was 5th in senior ladies at NWP Regionals.

You probably have more up-to-date info! Thanks, blades. I'll look into updating the bio/confirming your info.

I've been watching this girl since 99. I can not believe how far she has come! She is the sweetest thing I have ever met and she always has the best work ethic out there. It is so nice to see someone like that make it to the top.
Good luck at Nationals Aanya!!!!

The program at 2004 Pacific Coast Sectionals listed her coach as James White. She really skated beautifully there, and everytime I see her it is striking how complete her skating is. She weaves together an experience from start to finish. Her jumps are not just the peak elements, as seen in so many freestylers, but they are punctuations or statements in a deeper story made of many steps, movements, and emotions. Her strong ice dance background supports her ability to make every edge and every nuance part of a unified emotional experience. Her long lithe elegance and line is also almost ethereal- balletic and, at the same time, delicate and grand. I look forward to seeing much more of her; she has the grace and artistry to draw attention. Good luck, Aanya, we in the Pacific NW salute your hard work and beautiful skating. Have fun, relax and skate with joy at Nationals!
