Hello all,

I just wanted to let you know that the Liberty Open (July 16-20, Newark, DE) competition roster is now up at the official website. Looks like a pretty large and exciting competition this year!

Click on the Group Assignments

Some notable names...

Senior Ladies- Daria Timoshenko (former world Jr. champ from Russia, now skating for Azerbaijan), Lisa Horstman, Lauren Thomas, Andrea Varraux, Stephanie Roth, Shayna Syken, Kristin Tudisco, Jen McClure, Dirke Baker (NZL).......

Sr Men- Derrick Delmore, Ryan Bradley, Scott Smith, Ryan Jahnke, Shaun Rogers, Danny Clausen, Rohene Ward, Eric Ritter, Kurt Fromknect, Brad Griffies, Chris Vaeth

Jr Ladies-- many big names, including Bobrick, Sheaffer, Agler, Emily Hughes, Ponichtera, Leski (POL), Kristen Mita, Kristine Lee, Megan Stewart, Jane Bugaeva, Kristina Moore, Hadford, Peng, Archambault, Lovasik......

Jr Men-- Wong, Aronowitz, Rouse, Gibbs, Solonoski, Abrahams, Evancho, Serpe, McGraw, Kaplan, Weintraub, Bruni, Abbott.....

Jr Pairs should be a great competition with Evora/Ladwig, Varraux/Pelletier, Jordan/Barrett, and Maltby/Murphy all competing.

Sr Pairs is a Phibbs/Patrick exhibition and novice pairs includes the debut of Chloe Katz in pairs...

There are tons of novice men and ladies.........you can see for yourself. :) I'll be there and I'm sure reports of this comp. will not be hard to come by this year.......

Actually, Katz has been skating pairs with Joseph Lynch for a couple of seasons already - they have a NACS Novice pairs assignment in Canada later this summer.

It *is* a fabulous roster, I agree, but just be aware that last-minute scratches from/no shows at club competitions can be quite common. Also, oftentimes, some skaters will end up competing in just the SP if their LP isn't ready, etc.

To add some more:

Senior ladies: Alibel Alegre (Spain vicemister)

And have a question:

Is Chloe Katz skating for US or will she be representing Israel?

What's a "vicemister"? ;)

oubik, you're probably thinking of Tamar Katz (who is registered to compete in Novice ladies at Liberty, made Junior Nationals last season at the Intermediate level, and the daughter of an Israeli diplomat living in the USA), and not Chloe Katz.

Vice master is the National silver medalist in Spain.

Chloe Katz competed as a Jr. last year for the U.S., and represents the Skating Club of New York, as far as I know she is not related to Tamar Katz, who will skate for Israel and has a triple lutz, Tamar Katz is also doing this competition as a Novice lady, for the Washington (D.C.) skating club.

Sounds great...thanks for posting.

I'll miss AP (anyone know why she's not coming?), but Rohene Ward will have to make up for it! I saw him only once, but he was such a pleasure. I hope everyone has fun! You can look for me probably late Fri. and Sat. :D .
