Some time ago there was a lot of discussion about the Chinese pair men's technique in throw jumps (i.e., leaping off the ice as they throw the lady). Is this being addressed in the CoP? Is the deduction just so minor that it doesn't matter to anyone (in the Chinese camp) to correct this technique? Is it a question of the Chinese pairs coming to power and so that technique will become, by default, correct?

The only "deduction" that can occur is the Grade of Execution added to the base value of a throw jump.

For a pair to receive a base mark score for a throw jump, they must have:

average length preparation phase
adequate speed at take-off
man's position adequate at release
adequate height and distance
organized/vertical air position
completed revolutions
correct position of man after the throw
clean landing, sufficient flow in and out

The man jumping on the release phase is at least a -1 Grade of Execution, as the criteria for a -1 GOE is:

Skaters demostrate minor problem in one phase of the throw jump eg....man's position less than adequate at release

But depending on the judge, they could actually be punished with up to a GOE of -2, as the criteria follows:
Skaters demonstrate minor problems in two phases or major problem in one phase of the throw jump
