Finally!!!!!!

A show coming here.
I've been so ticked off at the Mile One Powers that be.

We get a lovely new rink and what's their Grand Opening? A concert of NF singers...

There's been concerts galore since, none which appeal to me.

Skating wise we got Junior Nats which was awesome but no show.

Now to find out who else is coming...

Darn it anyway - no Sudbury stop this time... :(

We've been so lucky with shows stopping here the last few years, I guess I just assumed........

I know the dates are tentative, but does anyone know if they plan to add more shows to the list......

Awww gosh darn, no Sudbury Stop this year ... also disapointed to see no Hamilton stop either which is quick surprising to say the least. I so dislike going to the ACC for any skating event, just because its not cheap ..... and I hate parking there too .... I hope they will add a show at least in Hamilton .....

No Moncton date either. Moncton always has such a good crowd. I wonder what unseen complications arise to keep skating shows from coming here. I saw the previous Elvis tour two or three times in the hub-city. It would have been nice to have a show to attend while waiting for Stars on Ice. :(

I can't beleive Elvis isn't coming to Hamilton. Site of his GPF Win, his last Canadian Men's title, his emotional farewell ceremony to elligible ranks...

Not to mention the fact that the last time the Elvis tour occurred in the fall of 1998, Elvis didn't skate in Hamilton due to aggrivating his groin injury.

its quite possible that they couldn't book Copps.

No tour in Winnipeg either. Too bad, he lost my ticket revenue...

Donna, thanks for letting us know the tentative tour dates.

I had planned to go to Hamilton but I'll have to pick another city now. I'm just happy that Elvis is bringing back his tour. :D

How great to see he is definately doing the tour again! I hope it will be broadcast, TNT used to do it for the US. I would suppose it's a done deal for Canadian broadcast.

Thanks, Donna!

Traxel:
that makes two of us happy about London. I live just an hour away. I'm hoping to get my tickets here -- Sarnia -- since both our arenas will now be managed by the same company.
And to top it off, the 16th is a Saturday evening. Making plans [b:8cb77da75a]NOW [/b:8cb77da75a][/size:8cb77da75a][/color:8cb77da75a]to go. Maybe we can find time to meet up?

til later,
Deb

WOW that's great ... actually I was just up in London for Canada Day and let me just say that I rather enjoyed London. What a great city - and had a great time at the Park on Canada Day - watching the fireworks etc....

Where abouts is this new arena going to be located ????

I've got to agree with you VGL .... it just doesn't make sense at all at all. Sure its possible that they couldn't get the "Copps" during that time .... however its a shame, a real real shame because I was intending on going to see the show in Hamilton. Like I said in a previous post, I just dislike going to the ACC - just because they way overprice their tickets there, and I can see the same show say in Hamilton and pay a little "less" for my ticket. I know through experience when I went to see SOI both in TO and in Hamilton the same year.

Well I guess I will settle on seeing Kurt's show in Hamilton that month ...

Hey, TRAxel! Can I tell you something wonderful? Sat. Nov. 16th, 2002 Elvis in London.

Book no competitions in which to compete. Come learn from the master and his friends, how do skate interpretive freeskates at the Elvis Tour. yup, I'm going and I'm thinking of taping my interpretive freeskate for Elvis. Thinking about choosing Alanis Morrisette's Head Over Feet because....
I'd like to say to Elvis,

"You already won me over inspite of me,
And don't be alarmed if I fall Head Over Feet.
And don't be surprised if I love you for all that you are.
I couldn't help it.
It's all your fault."

Yup, it's Elvis' fault that I love his skating and him as a human being. It's the way he conducts himself on and off of the ice. This is why he is my fav skater of all time.

Hey Bailey I'm a Winnipegger too. I was also disappointed to learn that there would not be a show here but I believe it is probably Winnipeg Arena's fault. We miss a lot of big entertainers due to the additional entertainment tax or something like that. It would have been a lot cheaper for me to see the Elvis Tour here in Winnipeg but since I haven't seen it since '95 other than on tv this year I've decided to fly to Edmonton and go to the Calgary show (I have a friend that lives in Edmonton otherwise I probably wouldn't go at all).

Wow lots of travelling I've been doing just to see the guy skate, last month Fargo, ND, USA and now November Edmonton/Calgary. I'll be broke but oh well, lol.

Bailey and SShaste.....my friends actually blame me for Elvis not coming to Winnipeg!! I think they think that Elvis is afraid I won't let go of him next time!! Getting that kiss at the '95 show was certainly a highlight for me! I think I'm going to head to the Calgary show as well.

Hey Ice we should let each other know where our seats are or pick a destination in the Saddledome and then meet up at intermission. It would be great to meet another Winnipeg Elvis fan!

Any indication as to who will be skating in the tour (aside from Elvis of course) ?

I know what ya mean. I'm so glad that he isn't go to the Glacier again.

I was not impressed with the people at the Glacier. They had no clue who was coming with him. I'll admit, I'm not biggest Elvis fan. I prefer his LPs to galas.

But I am a huge Ben Ferreira fan nad have been kicking myself ever since because he was down and I didn't go.

We called everyday to see who the other names were going to be there and all we were told was Elvis and local skaters.
I hope we get a cast list this time around but I'm planning on going anyways.

I can't believe there's another poster from Newfoundland. Everywhere I go I'm always the only one.

There is always a cast list for the Elvis Tour. It hasn't been finalized yet but it will be and probably long before tickets go on sale. Patience, people :) Elvis usually has some great skaters on his tours and surely this year will be no different. If I hear anything I will immediately let you know. Mary Sinker will have it on her website for Bladerunners as soon as it is finalized. (BTW the people at the individual arenas cannot possibly know yet who the other skaters will be because the skaters have not been finalized or announced yet. This is only July ... I understand the excitement and people wanting to know.)

SShaste...yes, please let me know where your tickets are and I'll do the same!

Just a little plug here....Mary Sinker is a terrific lady and writes a fab newsletter. Had the privilage of meeting her here in Winnipeg during Nationals after corresponding with her for quite some time. Serious Elvis fans will love her newsletters!!
