View Full Version : Holiday Festival on ice ticket sales

I was rather surprised today when I heard a radio commercial on CFRB for the Holiday festival on ice in December in Toronto. I've never heard radio commercials for a skating show before.
We decided to take a pass on it because of the high ticket price. The top priced tickets for the one event are just a bit less expensive than all-event tickets for four continents!
I checked ticketmaster and you can still get a pair of tickets in section 108 row DD.
Am I making something out of nothing or is skating fatigue starting to set in with the general public?

Well, for now, I'm taking a pass too.
I go to a lot of things, but I'm now getting more selective and will be cutting back.
I'm headed towards going to comps more than shows.
In the past, I would go to SOI in Buffalo, but now that that tour stop has been dropped, I won't be going to SOI in the U.S. for the time being.
Also, I go to CSOI in T.O. and Hamilton, but am considering dropping the T.O. stop for next season.
And I've stopped going to COI and those USFSA comps in Detroit.
So yeah, for me, a bit of fatigue is setting in.

I looked into getting tix for it but ticketmaster didn't have a map of the seating plan, so I decided against going.

Hey Suzane,
When I originally check when the tickets went on pre-sale there wasn't a seating chart but when I checked today there was one.
While I'm thinking about it, Summertime's post did remind of one thing. We Canadians may complain about ticket prices for shows here but if you really want to get sick, check out the prices in the U.S. I'm generalizing but you will basically pay about 3 times the price -- in U.S. dollars no less -- to see something in the U.S. versus Canada. Maybe it's not so bad afterall.

I'm Canadian, but I'm fairly close to the border, and probably overdosed a bit on skating events in the recent past :)
