Traxel,
sure wish I could but looks like my timetable for work has me in class until noon on the Friday and it's about 2.5 hours to there from here. Hubby doesn't seem to mind and I was thinking about the Howard Johnson's cause they have room and the price is right. Get back to you later with a definite answer.

til later,
Deb

Well they are selling a "Triple Axel" package for Fri, Sat and Sunday, costing only $75 for the weekend, and Friday events start at 4 o'clock- so that would work for you, if you can come. If I were you, I would book soon for the Hotel if you decide on it- HoJos will probably fill up quickly (the Ramada and the Sheraton, the other hotels in the vicinity are already sold out).

I have my ticket, sitting section 108, row 13 seat 11. I haven't received the tickets in the mail yet, though. I'm staying at the Sheraton.

There is no "Cup" in the name of this competition. It is the Four Continents *Championships*.

I assume that it will be decided at each county's nationals- so we will know in January for the US and Canada, and a bit earlier (?) for China and Japan. For the other countries, where there are fewer top level skaters, I assume it will be their usual entries, if they are still skating this season (S Human from SA, Cantu from Mexico, etc.)

Where are you staying? Home - Hamilton is a reasonably short drive for me (maybe 40 mins?)

pinkjellybean, can you tell me where the kiss and cry area is planned? Thank you.

As of right now the kiss and cry is supposed to be in section 126 (therefore inbetween 124 and 127 - where we are)... Plans could change but as of right now 126 is the kiss and cry.

Yahooooooo, I'm going and taking daughter (all of 11, she's skipping school that day, hmmmmm what can we call such an excuse ... maybe history in the making?? any suggestions as to what I can tell the school as the reason for her absence? guess I'll just tell them the truth, she's spending some qualtity time with mom in Hamilton). We're in section 123, row 18 in seats 12 and 13. Please look us up. She's a natural auburn and I'm just wishful I was so I cover the grey to try and fit in :D .
Staying at the Howard Johnson from which I can apparently just walk over to the arena. WooHoo! Yep, watch out, I'm going to be happy again.
Cygnus:
thanks for the heads up, that worked out really well.

til later,
Deb

KatieC

Where are you sitting: Section 109, Row 16, Seat 1

Who are you sitting with: My friend from work and possibly her friend.

Where are you staying: At home, about 1/2 hour away.

I split the tickets with another friend, but my tickets read:

Jan. 22 1:00 p.m. Dance Orig/Pairs Short/Mens Short

Jan. 24 4:00 p.m. Pairs Free/Mens Free

Jan. 25 3:00 p.m. Gala Exhibition

(Actually, instead of Pairs, the tickets read "Paris", which is a bit scary!)

My cousin and I are going with the Dash Tours group. We wanted to stay at the Sheraton, and that seemed the only way. So far we don't know where this group will be sitting, but we really don't mind where we sit. In fact, we prefer the ends.

Is anyone else travelling with Dash Tours?

It has been far too long a time since Vancouver Worlds TRAxel. Really looking forward to seeing you too. I won't be coming down for B&K's show in London sad to say. I'm going to be attending a huge Lord of the Rings convention in Toronto December 15th to 17th. I can't afford to do both and....Oh well...:(

This one of those times I wish Transporters were a real thing and not just in the Star Trek universe. ;)

Wow, you guys are really tempting the skategods, by saying that. ;) I would never, ever tempt them. W&F have an extreme battle on their hands to even make the team at nationals.

No website yet, although there are quite a few people either working on websites or wanting to start one... I'm not sure how many we'll see but none are up yet.

I have a yahoo group... but it's just getting started... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/canadianpairsfans/

...we're not tempting the skate gods... we would just really really really like them to be at 4CC's... No matter who's there we will still have an awesome time, it's all about the skating in the end.
