Here's the info on her long:
[quote:2429209a5b]Olga finished my long program last week and I have started run-throughs. My long program music is a medley of Abba music. It's really cool because my program begins with "Dancing Queen." That is one of my favorite songs so I sing the words while I am skating.[/quote:2429209a5b]
Reserving judgment until I see the program...
Jenny sounds really happy to be at Onyx. I'm really happy she's working so hard on her spins, too.

Thanks for the link. It sounds like she's doing great! I look forward to seeing how her skating changes working with a new coach.

Already so much has happened for her - it looks like this is a great change for her and she's going to maybe leave us with quite the impression once the season begins! :)

She sounds so enthusiastic. I love Abba's music so I am really looking forward to seeing this new program as well as her improvements. Go, Jenny! :D

You know, Abba - that sounds like it has the potential to be a great program that will get the audience going - or a disaster, no in betweens! I can't wait to see it!

I kind of hate ABBA (but I'm in a 12 step program to fix that...) I just hope that it's not too muzaky sounding. I hate muzak more than anything. There's got to be some fully orchestrated ABBA music out there, and I hope she'll use it.

I definitely agree, Marney! I have a feeling that this free program is going to ROCK! I haven't been a big fan of Jenny in the past, but this change of location and choreography and more daring/interesting music selections could definitely help her popularity and crowd appeal. Glad she sounds happy about the new changes in her lifestyle and routine...sounds like she made the right decision. I look forward to seeing a much improved Jenny in 02-03. Can't wait to see this program!

I only hope Jenny doesn't use the same ABBA music (a Muzak version of Money, Money, Money) that B&P used for their 1991 Worlds SP (shudder!)

I like Dancing Queen too, but for me this smacks of Nancy's use of muzak. I'll reserve judgement for now.

Something I've always disliked about Jenny's music is the really obvious music edits. Her change of music tends to be used as a spot for posing and used as rest stops. And actually many skaters do that but the problem(for me) being the way one music cut is transitioned into another without there being some kind of flow or connection between them. They tend to remind me of Plushenko's music cuts, although nowhere near as bad. :?
I'm a big fan of though Jennys though and I'd rather see someone give 110% with a program I don't like, than see someone go 50% with a masterpiece. :)

I'm kind of disappointed she won't be refining Danse Macabre, I believe she only used it like 3 times, what a waste!
But with Jen's personality, the ABBA thing could work.........
I wish her nothing but the best this upcoming season! :D

If anyone can make this music work, it is Jenny. She has the energy level and she can drag the audience into it. I wonder what intsrumental version of this music she is using. I have heard several symphonic versions and they are quite engaging and beautiful. Very different than the Abba vocals which are so "disco." This should be interesting.

I think the music choice is a sign she is taking a lively direction. Good for Jenny!
I also think the music choice will appeal to the younger fans of skating which is where it's all really at! Some people get tired of classical music. And almost everyone uses it!!

I like the sound of this, especially cause she seems to be really into it! I think Jenny is going to surprise a lot of people next year! :D

ABBA is a good choice for someone young--there isn't much emotional range, so you do not notice the lack of emotional range in the skater. It's cute, it's peppy, the audience will just eat it up. More power to her.

I have no doubt as Jenny fans we'll love it......I worry about the judges.
Well they liked the MJ medley from B&K. I will cross my fingers.
Personally, I love ABBA....songs from my youth.......ahhhhhhhh.....

There are a lot of judges out there who were relatively young when ABBA was big in the music world -- I don't think Jenny will have to worry about how they like the music! :)

Me too! I'm into singing groups with quality voices that harmonize well, whether it be The Beach Boys, Manhatten Transfer, ABBA, etc. I think this is why ABBA's music has more staying power than your usual bubble gum pop.
Of course, Jenny's music won't have vocals. Does Mamma Mia (the musical) have an overture? If so, she might be using that.

The Mamma Mia overture is only about 2 minutes long and runs right into "I have a Dream" with lyrics.
There is another overture after the first half but this is also short and runs right into "Under Attack"
so, I don't think the musical is possible.

I would much rather have seen a quality program choreographed by Nathan Birch than "Dancing Queen". :o But best to Jennie in the upcoming year.
