I'm surprised this news hasn't been posted yet, but apparently, Yagudin will be turning pro.

According to Russian press, "the Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin is going to leave amateur sports. This sensational news was informed by the president of national Federation of fugure skating Valentine Piseev, who got fax from Yagudin. So informs ITAR-TASS. The four-time world champion considers, that " has achieved everything that he wanted on this field, and now is going to try itself in the other direction ". As it is informed in a fax, Yagudin is going to publish the official announcement of the his decision on November, 1. Yagudin has thanked federation and its president for everything, that was made for him during his sports career. "

Well, I guess I'm not surprised. Still though, I'd love to see some more competitive seasons out of Alexei, but not at the cost of his health!

Yagudin is going to publish the official announcement of the his decision on November, 1. oo wow that is coming out on my birthday...anyway i am not surprised he had really liekd coaching apparently too and i am excited to see him on the pro circuit:D

I'm not surprised. I will miss him though. He made men's skating so exciting the past number of years. Maybe I will get to see him perform live as a pro.
