I was fortunate enough to be able to attend Viktory for Kids in Danbury Connecticut on October 4. I haven't had time to do a review but there's one image I *had* to share with you.
At the end of the utterly fabulous show, all the skaters were on the ice and people were taking pictures and the skaters were talking to the audience and fooling around.
As I watched, Brian Boitano took Daria Gordeeva's little hand and they did cross overs across one end of the rink, then he lead her into a simple pairs spiral. It was such a precious moment, he so big and such a towering influence on the sport and she tiny, the product of probably the best pair skaters we'll see in our lifetimes, and with the potential of her own career before her. It was so tender and fleeting, so casual but so sweet. I felt terribly priveleged to have been there to see it. Tears come to my eyes thinking of it now.
