The Copper Cup is the annual competition presented by the Utah Figure Skating club. Usually it is not particularly significant. This year, however, I noticed that both regionals and sectionals are being held in Utah so the Copper Cup may have more appeal to those from out of the area.
I plan to attend at least one day and will post what I can. If you are interested in any particular skater, please post or PM me.
I am also hoping that someone else will be attending more than I can and will want to post. I realize though that because of the distances, there are fewer of us who post about the competitions in the west.

There are several telented Skaters From Utah, off the top of my head I think of:
Mackenzie Baltz who was 4th in the Free, and 5th overall as a Sr. Lady at Regionals, I know that she modeled for Several of the Posters in SLC.
Katie Mulvaney- she has been to Nationals as a Jr., as 2nd substitute, she was 2nd substitute again this year,
Stephanie Rosenthal- Many people like her a lot, she was 4th in both programs as a Jr. at Regionals this year, but 5th overall.
Erin Reed- Won Regionals as a Novice, was 2nd substitute for Nationals, and just beat several skaters who made it to nationals at the Jr. and Novice levels at the Broadmoor Open, where she was 2nd.
Nicole Westin- Made it to the Final Round at Nationals as an Intermediate in 2001, 8th at Regionals as a Novice.
Kristina Struthwolf: Won Regionals as an Intermediate this year.
Katherine Riley, was 4th in the Free at Regionals as an Intermediate, 5th overall.
I can see this competition attracting skaters from Colorado, California, Nevada, and Arizona.

Thanks Cerulean. I'm aware of the first five skaters on your list and will watch out for all of them, although who knows who will compete. A lot of the kids here go to Sun Valley for the summer and it tends to cut down on the number of participants. I'm thinking that there's a chance we will see some good skating next week with some recognizeable names, especially some coming back from injuries that may need some competition experience. Will let you know.
I'm debating whether I will post here or on unseen skaters. Maybe both - I haven't decided.

If anyone is interested, there is a report on the Copper Cup over on Unseen skaters; on the Central Pacific board.
