I'm leaving for Skate America in an hour. Can anyone tell me any of the major steps in the Austrian Waltz, so I can learn a little something about dance when I watch the complulsories? Thanx, anyone.;)

Thank you, IceDanceSk8er. BTW, I just 'did' the Austrian Waltz in my kitchen so the steps would stay in my head. NOT a pretty sight. Yikes!:P

Austrian Waltz: a bajilllion twizzles, one two footed rocker, if done badly looks like an on-ice boxing match ( but I finally was able to do it well enough to pass), it's my favourite dance. Wish they were showing on TV:(

Agreed about the boxing match bit: probably a good way to pick out the better teams is how easy all the transitions and changes of position look and how close together the skaters can stay during these changes.

Anyone watching the compulsories at Skate America, I'd love to hear your reports after...
