Well there wasn't too much that hadn't already come out in the various articles from last week ... except that Vic ended with a comment about not wanting to say too much about what he was doing next since there were some things to be finalized. I immediately wondered if he was working on trying to set up a new competitive partnership! (That's just speculation on my part, I have no concrete evidence of anything going on.)

As for the tone of the interview, it was kind of odd. It's harder to tell on radio, and the fact that Shae was in PA and Vic in BC ... but I detected a real, well, separation between them. There wasn't any animosity, but there wasn't any affection between them either. They were talking like two individuals, and not like two people who had been skating together for 15 years.

I noticed the exact same thing. Mostly with Victor - he almost seemed cold, saying that theirs was purely a business partnership, while Shae was comparing it more to a marriage.

I hope whatever he's planning works out, and I hope Shae can continue skating in some way.

I do understand why he wanted to retire, though. There's not much point in training all year if the only skating you do is two weeks with CSOI, or even a couple of months with COI.
