She mentioned skating pairs in the Cambells interview but I missed who she said she was skating pairs with. She apparently seems to want to skate pairs and feels very comfortable with that. That should prove interesting.

And will hopefully prove promising! She definitely has a pairs skater build...And she definitely has the jumps! :D

Are they planning to do international competitions? I remember the discussion a long time ago.. any updates?

Yea- this rumor has been around for close to a year now. Are they actually training, or just playing with the idea?

Holy! I never heard about that rumour! That's really interesting though...As much as I think that she has a favourable pairs-body type, I think he is too lean and...lanky to be a pairs boy...No?

Well, I don't know how long the "rumors" have been around, but from what she wrote on her official site, they started practicing together over the summer and it was a rather spur-of-the-moment thing. Maybe you're just remembering the discussions as being older than they actually were? I don't think there was any indication that this was going to happen a year ago. (Actually, I remember asking Jenny if she was interested in competing in pairs years ago--like when she was 13 or 14--and she said she definitely wasn't. Things change, apparently.)

Anyway, I guess we'll see what actually happens. Jenny and Fedor are both competing internationally for different countries this year, so one of them is going to have to sit out next season before they could do anything overseas. And I don't think they've given any indication as to what country they'll compete for/in; there are good arguments both ways so it's a tough call. Plus I'm not sure the Olympics would ever be a reasonable possibility; I don't know what the citizenship procedure is in Canada, but in the U.S., Fedor would have pretty much zero chance of being eligible by 2010 unless he married a U.S. citizen. So if that's part of their goal, they have some serious thinking to do.

Physically this seems like a good match, though. He's rather slim for a male pairs skater, but he's very tall and he can always work on bulking up. I would guess there's close to a foot between them in height, and she's light enough for size not to be an issue.

I don't know what Fedor's spinning ability is, but I think they might have some problem with their side by side spin, particularly the camel spin. Jenny always looks like she struggling to get the required revolutions in the forward camel.

I am thrilled for Jenny. I think this will be a good move for her. I hope her partner is tall. What coach is she working with? Which country will they skate for?

I'm not sure if it was this board or maybe skating universe... But this summer there was a HUGE thread on the whole fedor and jenn idea. I actually think it was brought up this summer about the whole new skating team. As far as I can remember we based it as a rumor and that they were just playing around. She never said she was doing pairs in the interview she said she would like to do pairs and had played around with it with Fedor. She finished it off with the fact that the pairs experience had improved her singles.

One does not get through midterm week on decaf. Especially when there's a 15 month old in the picture. :P

Sorry, but details matter when you're talking about skating together for a year versus skating together casually last summer. Might make the difference between a "real" partnership and something that audiences will never see, for one thing.

Jenny herself said it and I am dying to see these *two* skate together. What a beautiful couple they will be and hopefully skate just as beautiful. Anyone that has any pics of these two together or any recent imfo please, please, please post!:D

I'm not so sure it is that "casual" Trillian.
According to a journal entry of Jenny's, they practice on and off the ice together for several hours a day.
I have also read statements from both that make it seem pretty clear that they are serious about skating and competing together.

Well, I'd be glad to hear it's not casual. I think these two would make a good match. But until we hear about plans for them to actually compete together, I'm taking a "wait and see" attitude.
