this isn't part of the grand prix series, but one of my favorite dance teams, navarro/shmalo is skating.
also derrick delmore and johnny weir, angela nikodinov, lindsy weber, hinzmann/parcham, appel/harris.

A post by sk8rfan on FSU gave the following pairs short program results:
1)Hinzmann/Parchem (USA)
2)Wakamatsu/Facteau (CAN)
3)Bergeron/Davison (CAN)
4)Appel/Harris (USA)

The poster said it was from a reliable source and that Hinzmann & Parchem skated cleanly, as did the "Canadians" (not sure if that means both Canadian teams or just Wakamatsu & Facteau).

Looks like Johnny Weir had a good skate. I hope he keeps it up in the long. I also wish it was televised  .

Very good results for Navarro/Shmalo so far, and their freedance is always creative, difficult, and exciting....so I hope they move up even higher!!!!

Just checked the ladies SP results. Does anyone know what happened to Angela? Is she still hampered by the injury? Hope she's okay!

And to the two US teams! Maybe U.S. pairs will start to make a comeback in the next few years.

Can someone give some insight into Angela's skate? Good Heavens--I would never have believed that placement in the short.

Eislauffan reported on FSU that Angela only did a 2lutz (no combo), stepped out of her solo 3toe, and only did a single axel. So required deductions on all three jump combinations. And assuming Angela is skating her programs the same as she has done for the past several seasons, she probably also screwed up one or two of her spins by not doing the required number of revolutions (she does this often).

well instead of complaining about how long they were there, I say, "good for them!" it's always nice to be able to raise the bar a little for their competitors at these 'small' comps...and give their fans (and the judges) a taste of their new programs!

Hmm, I know it's early in the season, but it looks like the old self-doubting Angela has resurfaced again. Perhaps this is her last season as an eligible?

I read on another board that Angela has only been training her jumps for 2 weeks (I think that's what was said) but I guess she decided that she would be better to go to this competition and get a bye through sectionals which then gives her more time to train her jumps for regionals.
