I was reading her profile over at the ISU skating website and noticed that she is fluent in this language. It was mentioned that her parents are from there. I think that Angela really came to quality in her skating just before her other coach died of cancer. Now Angela must skate against all these other wonderful Americans. I am just curious but if she skated for B-could she not perhaps grab a top spot over there representing them? Not that I want her to leave the USA or anything, its just that she has struggled so much in these last years and she was really just starting to shine. Now she is almost eclisped by Kirk, Cohen, Donough and others and that is a shame for Angela. She has so much potential.

Any news on her this season so far anyone?????

Angela looks great and is training hard for her up coming competition. If she stays healthy she should do just fine here in the U.S. Here jumps are big, strong and clean and her artistry is beautiful. Look for her to have a big come back this year.

I think Angela will do fine if she is healthy. Remember, she beat Jenny at the Canadian Open last year even with a dislocated shoulder. I wouldn't say Jenny has eclipsed her yet. This should answer your question about her represening Bulgaria. It came up on another board. From her site-
Dear Angla,
Have you ever in the past or would you ever in the future think about doing pairs? Or was singles always in your heart? I am trying to decide between singles and pairs. Also, did any one ever try to get you to skate for Bulgaria when you were starting out? My parents are from Hong Kong and people say I should switch.

Hi Shelly,
When I was younger I was asked to try out for pairs but I honestly was not interested in pairs skating. I never liked the idea of being lifted or thrown in the air. :) I enjoy watching pairs and admire their strength. As for competing for Bulgaria, I have been asked in the past but I look at it as an easy way out for me. I feel that I belong to the U.S. I was born here and raised here and enjoy competing for the United States. We have such a strong team of U.S. competitors that it is an honor to represent our country internationally.
