A different birth announcement has been posted on the official SOI site:

Congratulations to Scott, Tracie and the newest addition to their family...even though the headline of the SOI birth announcement kind of implies they both gave birth to the little guy!

Although I do think some of the insults towards Scott on that other thread were a little uncalled-for, I have to agree that was a little more information than most of us ever wanted to know.

oh come now!...didn't see any insults towards scott at all...seems that everyone was happy for he and family and wished them well...cept maybe for me...i was too busy having fun...but indeed, i too wish them well...i'm very happy for them all...
but...as a standupcomicwannabe...i also thought it was far too much info and just couldn't resist a good setup...
Blades,
You are too funny.
I agree: the media provided a little more info than I needed to know :)
Congrats to Scott and his wife :)

Actually I thought that the "naturally" part was to give other cancer sufferers hope. Personally cannot see anything wrong in the news.

I too see nothing wrong with saying the pregnancy was achieved "naturally". Having gone through fertility treatments and IVF myself, they were very fortunate.
It's not like they are telling us the actual positions they were in when they conceived. Now that would have been too much info.
