If the GP final is in Dec 2003, and last year's was in March, 2003...does that mean there will be 2 sets of GP Champs for 2003 recorded in the history books?

Well, there were also two separate GP finals in 1997 (one in March just before Worlds and another in December just before the holidays and the Olympics), but I can't remember how they handled how the years of the winners were organized. Hopefully someone else has a better memory, though. :)

The GP Final in early March in Hamilton was for 1997 and the December competition was for 1998.

I'm pretty sure that they'll call it the 2004 Grand Prix Championships, regardless of the fact that it actually takes place in 2003. Isn't that what they've done in the past?

Yep. In 2001, the 2002 GPF was held so this probably will be no different.
