Rudy - Happy Birthday/Update

Rudy is 34 on September 7!

He is doing incredibly well after his hip replacement surgery on August 19. Working with a skating knowledgeable physical therapist, he is doing double axel kick throughs, jumping off both legs, and finding out how fine it is to experience pain-free landings again.

His second surgery (other hip) is scheduled for September 30.

well, i remember the nationals when rudy skated a brilliant fs and the crowd was roaring on its collective feet, just daring the judges to give him anything less than the first place he deserved.

what a grand experience for all who were present. i remember the clear joy on his face as he completed the program.

way to go, rudy! and thank you for that experience at nationals.

Happy, Happy Birthday Rudy!! I first saw you (& Kristi) skate when you were 17 yrs. old. Time flies, doesn't it? I'm glad to hear of your successful recovery from surgery.
