A special evening of skating is taking place at the John Labatt Center in London, Ontario. The featured guests are Shae-Lynn and Vic. The announcement made the front cover of the sports section of London's daily, the Free Press. Here's a few "snippets" lifted from the write up.
Reason for event: for B&K to thank Canadians for their support of the duo. GM of the center was quoted as saying "the London and surrounding area is a very strong figure skating market. With Shae-Lynn being from nearby Chatham, it was a natural fit to have the homecoming show here".
When: On December 5 @ 7:30 p.m.
Cost: $40.25 to $60.25. Tickets go on sale next Friday at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at the JLC box office or all ticketmaster outlets.
Other skaters include Brian Orser, Josee Chouinard and Jennifer Robinson as well as two local skaters or teams from the Chatham region who will be invited to participate.

How I wish I were going, but since I'm going to SC, it likely isn't in the budget ... but dang it all ... I really want to go. Can anyone make a case for me to convince myself and hubby that I should get to go to this too?;)

til later,
Deb

I can't go either. I've got plans for a three day Lord of the Rings convention in Toronto two weeks from then. Sigh....:(

Thanks for the info! I wish I could go. That is in no way possible though. *sigh* Maybe they'll have a homecoming thing in Vancouver sometime. My fingers are crossed!

Course you should go, if you can! If you need a reason, remember that at Skate Canada you won't get to see B&K, Brian or Josee (don't know if Jen R's going). Myself, I'm a few thousand miles in the wrong direction!

Sniff...I don't suppose this show will be televised for all of us who can't make the trip to see it, will it? It still sounds like a great show, though!

Here's a news release about B&K's upcoming Kitchener show (someone sent it to a mailing list I'm subscribed to and I don't know whether it's avaliable anywhere else online):

Bourne and Kraatz to make special appearance at National Team skating
show

Fans attending the upcoming Skate Canada National Team ice show in
Kitchener, Ont. will be treated to a special appearance by 2003 World
Ice Dance Champions and 10-time Canadian Ice Dance Champions Shae-Lynn Bourne and Victor Kraatz.

In addition to Bourne and Kraatz, three-time Canadian Ladies Champion
Josée Chouinard will also attend the event to sign autographs for fans prior to the show.

This will be Bourne and Kraatz's first skating appearance in Canada
since they won the World Championship title in Washington, D.C. in
March.

"We're very happy to skate in the show," said Bourne. "Skate Canada has been very supportive, and it's our way of saying thank you and, given that the show is in support of the Athlete Trust, it's also a way for us to give back to the skaters."

The show, entitled The Stars Come Out to Shine, will take place on Sept. 13 at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium, and will also feature members of the 2003-2004 Skate Canada National Team, as well as special guest, three-time World Champion and seven-time Canadian Champion Elvis Stojko, who announced his return to eligible skating last spring.

Members of the 2003-2004 Skate Canada National Team who will be
performing include 2003 Canadian Ladies Champion Jennifer Robinson,
Joannie Rochette, Annie Bellemare, Michelle Currie, 2003 Canadian Men's Champion Emanuel Sandhu, Jeffrey Buttle, Fedor Andreev, Ben Ferreira, Nicholas Young, Anabelle Langlois and Patrice Archetto, Elizabeth Putnam and Sean Wirtz, Valerie Marcoux and Craig Buntin, Pascale Bergeron and Rob Davison, Megan Wing and Aaron Lowe, Josée Piché and Pascal Denis, and Judith Longpre and Shae Zukiwsky. The current Canadian Junior Ice Dance Champions, Melissa Piperno and Liam Dougherty, are also making an appearance.

The event will benefit the Skate Canada Athlete Trust, which provides
support through a number of grants to athletes at various stages of
development and competitive levels as part of the pursuit of competitive excellence. Funds for the Athlete Trust are generated mainly through donations and tour revenues.

In total, Skate Canada provided over $1.4 million last year in direct
support to athletes in the form of training grants, scholarships and
event travel support.

"This event promises to be a very exciting one for both the fans and the skaters," said Skate Canada CEO Pam Coburn. "It is an excellent
opportunity for fans to preview the new skating programs of Canada's
best skaters before they head off to international competitions."

Tickets can be purchased at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium box office at (519) 745-0303. Ticket prices range from $50 for a VIP ticket, which includes VIP seating at the show and admission to the post-event reception where guests can meet the athletes, $25 for adults and $20 for seniors and students.

Sounds like another great show which, sadly, I won't be able to see.

I was able to get tickets through my work yesterday, not sure yet where they are located BUT they were $40.00 with NO service charge for the $50.25 (I would assume the tickets should be pretty good since a block was sold to my work place!) *fingers crossed*

Finally had the chance to see the pictures and I've got to say they are fabulous. And hey there is NOTHING wrong with Jeff's costume. Who ever said he looks like Peter Pan was totally off. I've seen worse costumes on other skaters than that.

NICE pictures of B&K as well. Funky costumes. Can't wait till Kurt's Gotta Skate !

Better cast in Sarnia for less money.
Make your choice i guess...... We ar lucky to be able to choose on where we prefer to go. I'm voting for the Sarnia SHOW. And Josee Chouinard is not skating in London either.....

How do you know that Josee is not skating in London? Did you see this somewhere? She was advertised.

Just a little note as well, I've been to the JLC last year to see a hockey game, and was sitting in the 5th last row at the VERY TOP (upper bowl), and in all honesty, they are great seats. I don't think there is a bad seat in that place. I even made a comment to say that these seats would be excellent for a skating event.

Just a follow up on what Blade1 just said...I had a corner seat right across from where the skaters came out for this past spring's CSOI and I was worried when I discovered that. I ended up having a fantastic view of the ice surface w/no obstruction at all. They certainly did everything right when they built the JLC. Fantastic arena!!
