Another Skating Baby on the way

According to the latest Blades On Ice update, Irina Lobacheva and Ilia Averbuch are expecting their first child in January.

There's definitely something in the water in the skating world:D

First, Kurt Browning and Sonia Rodriguez welcomed Gabriel on July 12...Scott and Tracie Hamilton's baby is due sometime this month...Kristi Yamaguchi and her husband will become parents in October...Paul Wylie and his wife are expecting in December as well as Elizabeth Punsalen and Jerod Swallow.

That is great news about L&A...who knows how many of these offspring will also skate...given how well their parents have done, the future certainly would be bright.:D :D

I'd like to add that Tiffany Chin is also expecting (a boy) this february. She was working this past weekend at Goldenwest, and she looked wonderful!!

Congrats to L&A. :D Though I guess this means they won't be competing in the eligible ranks this season. They had said at the end of last year that they'd return (partly because of their loss at Worlds), and I don't recall anything since saying they were retiring/going pro after all.

Artemis, if you remember, it was Ilia who was disappointed and thought about staying on another year. Irina wanted a baby 'yesterday' according to Ilia--a couple of years ago! ;) I'm so happy for them :lol:

it'll be interesting 17-22 years from now, to see if there are any medallist hopefuls who are the babies of the baby boom of 2003/2004 :)

Let's see. Instead of trikes, these skaters should have miniture zambonis. And instead of baby booties, these babies should get plush figure skates to put on their feet until they start walking. And instead of the usual baby clothes, they should have miniture skating outfits. How cute!

In the latest IFS, it's announced that...

Ingo Stuer and his wife had a baby boy earlier this year.

Gary Beacom and his wife also had a baby boy earlier this year

Leonova and Khalvko(sp) had a baby girl this spring

I'm starting to lose count w/all these blessings that have arrived to so many skaters this year.

The boom started a bit earlier: Abt got a son, Katia and Ilia a daughter, Urmanov got twins... Maybe there were somebody else also before Kurt and Sonia got their son?

I don't think they're married. It's the first time I heard that he's even married, but hey, the more ice babies, the merrier! ;) Ingo and Mandy did use to date, but they stopped a while ago...like in the mid-90s...

Wow! I knew L&K were expecting (but didn't know the due date), but I had no idea about Ingo or Gary--there's definitely something in the ice this year. :lol:

BTW, Scott Hamilton's baby is also expected to arrive any day now.

kind of random but not...when my coaches wife brought there babys to one of my tests he had on little black booties w/little blades (made out of cloth) on them they were the cutest thing ever!

Jozef Sabovcik and his wife Jennifer were expecting a child, I believe in July. Has anybody heard when she gave birth? Boy or girl?

You might have Kurt Browning and his wife Sonia mixed up w/Jozef sillyskates. Jozef and his wife aren't expecting theirs to arrive until sometime in November. Kurt and his wife Sonia had a healthy baby boy in July and his name is Gabriel.

yes, they had a little girl named Brianna. I think she's probably about a year old now. Possibly 14-16 months.
