2009 Easterns

Yo, so I'm such a tard, I was just reading some thread about Sectionals and then logged out and back in and now I can't find it anywhere! In any event - I'm not skating this year but will be there to cheer everyone on and if anyone (Stormy) need me to put them on the ice just holla:] I'll try and dress all official and split...

-Cheers!

Hi, mskater! Long time, no see. I won't be competing at Easterns either, but I will be there for at least part of the competition. If anyone from out of town needs a ride around the area or whatever, let me know. I look forward to cheering everyone on!

I'll be at Easterns. Hillsborough, right? that's where i'll be. No coach to put me on the ice, but i'll be doing Adult Silver Freestyle. I'm still putting program together. It would be nice to meet some folks. I'll be the one from Lynchburg!

Hi Skating Friends!

Will be great to catch up with everyone at the competition. I do wish I was competing but I decided last minute not to. I couldn't find the motivation to skate in my current level which doesn't really challenge me. So I'm making goals to test novice moves and free before the 2010 qualifying season so I'll be ready to go.

Good Luck everyone - I'll be rooting for you! :]

I'm not competing, but I plan on dropping in if I'm not on call. Even if I am on call, I may drop in since I'll be on call for Chapel Hill. Surely I can get from Hillborough to UNC Hospitals in 40 minutes.

There is also the "surprise" tasting ... as when Rob L. or Becca secretly replaces the fluid in your water bottle with vodka!

That would not go over well

I'm kidding anyway, that's the last thing I need before that program - which is finally choreographed but was really ugly this morning! I want to use the excuse of having a head cold. Yeah.

I am doing pre-bronze ladies II, pre-bronze compulsory moves, and beginner adult light comedy interp.

Anyone else in these?

Ya know what's funny, i'm really not a drinker, but it might help me relax! my legs get so stiff right before going on!

And those short little 3-4 minute warm ups are a total rip-off for us adults!

Yeah, if anyone's bored and wants to put me on the ice with a chat that goes something like "breathe, breathe!" I'll take it!

2009 bust

Well Im afraid you will have one less gold man at Easterns this year... I would like to wish each and everyone of you good luck at Easterns and Nationals. Even though my skating has improved a lot in the last year Im not taking lessons at the moment and ice time is beyond my means except for the occasional day to stay fit ( lots of cut backs at work)so 2009 is a bust for me , but with any luck Ill be back in 2010 . Any clues as to where Nationals might be 2010... anyone

Good luck everyone.
Ross

This is exactly why you shouldn't take coaches to adult events. Either they disapprove or they confiscate all your mini bottles and keep them for themselves.

So perhaps part of coach credentialing for adult events should require that the coach must enter at least one event himself where (s)he can collect her own mini bottles???

Well in my case, my coach is coming to also do the IJS critiques. This is also his first all adult event and I've warned him that these all adult competitions are a totally different ballgame than what he sees at most comps.

According to the competition website, the IJS critiques are pre- arranged and being offered for a extra charge.

Which has prompted many of us to ask, if they can arrange to have IJS offered during/outside the competition, why can't they use IJS *for* the competition? (I know why, I'm just being snarky.)
