We didn't replace ALL of it. We just adjusted the percentages. I think it was about 50/50 after we were done. And, it was AFTER you got off the ice. Not after the warmup. We were trying to be a little considerate.

That is a legitmate question. It is because there are some judges that are tech. controllers and are able to look at the program "through IJS" eyes. However, there are also technical specialists that are part of an IJS panel. Tech. specialists are generally former skaters and coaches. So they are not judges. There are also other costs involved. I know everyone keeps hearing that. But I wanted to offer the IJS scoring at Adults for Autism on April 4. I was having a hard time finding specialists that could come from the area and also judges that are also controllers. Since this is a first time comp., I don't know what to expect. So I, as the chair, am not willing to spend the extra $ it would take to bring in controllers and specialist from other areas. There are also other costs like paper....cases of paper would be required. I know that sounds petty....but adding it to everything else adds up. The other cost is the extra ice time. Bottom line is that there are not enough controllers and specialists to go around.

A little bump for the Easterns thread. Now that the schedule is out for the other two sections, any ideas of when to expect the Easterns one?

Just FYI, I did include a caveat that the link might not work unless you are logged in to the Yahoo CAS forum. But it's been posted in its entirety in that thread and its own thread, so it's a moot point.

Is there a get-together/ after-party on Saturday evening? I can't get to the rink until later in the afternoon, so I'm sorry I will miss most of the events and can't cheer you all on. Hope to see you all later or on Sunday!

That's an excellent question. The party is one of the most important parts of an adult competition!

From what I've read, there is supposed to be a informal gathering on Saturday night, that I probably won't be able to fully enjoy since my events are on Sunday. Oh well, what can 'ya do? Make up for it at AN?

Well, good, at least I'll be able to watch you skate on Sunday! What time is your event, Terry? Hopefully, not at 7am.

In addition to that..while I see quite a few folks that were there last year in NJ, there are also quite a few not there.
I really think the current state of the economy is a huge factor in this.

ETA. skaternum... there are 8 of us in Interp A/D!!

I'm not doing A/D. I'm doing C/LE, which only has 4.

I'm doing C/LE - I had originally asked for Adult Beginner, since I'm only pre-bronze, but there weren't any other entries, so I got bumped up. Be gentle...

Cool! That's the neat thing about Interps -- you're not being judged against each other based on skating skills. It's all about the music and the entertainment!

The thing you should be scared about is being on the warm up ice with the Masters Interp skaters.

Believe me I am - my plan is to stand quietly in a corner and look petrified.

For those who haven't checked the schedule in a while, it changed a little. You might want to take a look. My event moved 40 minutes on Saturday.

Wow - that's a big shift. This is the version updated 2/15/2009:
http://www.centralcarolinasc.com/Dow...9_Schedule.pdf

Any news on a Sat night dinner? I'd love to attend, even though I'm not competing. I think I'm on "runner duty" so don't yell at the messenger! lol

I haven't heard of anything as of late. I'm willing to get dinner with whoever, but need to be in early, since my events are the next day.

I'd totally be up for dinner as well. I'm ice monitor for one of the practice sessions on Saturday afternoon, then event on Sunday (Terri I'm loving the time for that).

As far as program goes, we will see! All I know is, my stick on bra no longer sticks.
