LOL, Isk8NYC! But isn't a "spoiler" thread only necessary if the event is going to be shown on TV?

Then again, I saw "spoiler" threads for World Juniors on other boards and that's not being televised.

If not, no worries - hopefully, NoVa (or lovepairs) will report tonight or tomorrow. In the past, results have usually come up on the USFSA website that same night, but nothing yet.
I wasn't keeping track, they don't announce the scores, only posted them in the hallway. Of the 17 gold championship ladies, I saw the first 11, I had to go. They were all great. If you told me what they were wearing I would perhaps remember.

Thanks, NoVa! Hey, how did you and Loops (and lovepairs and pairman) skate? (maybe that's your next post?)

Congrats to Frank R! (and Marty Romanik (there's a "t" missing))

Yay Heather Hilgar! (I knew she'd be one of the top 4)

Congratulations!

www.icenetwork.com has the adult sectionals listed on their front page.
Does that mean they're broadcasting events live over the internet?
(That might be worth the $30 - to watch fellow board members skate.)

Pairs results

Would like to provide more spoilers, but I only know my own event's results:

Championship Pairs:

1. Sailer and Garber
2. Cioppa and Mizerak
3. Cooper and Jones
4. Cheng and Barry
5. Grim and Traszka

I'd also like to congratulate the entire group on an awesome event. It's great to see how far pair skating advances each year, with more teams, harder elements, stronger skating, longer programs (yow!) ...

Kim and David were fantastic - awesome program, wonderful choreography, huge throws, 2 nice death spirals and they really sold it. A very well-deserved win, and more power to the opposite direction teams! Woo hoo! ;-)

Tim

I have an Ice Network subscription and AFAIK, live viewing wasn't possible. (I had assumed it was, but forgot to e-mail them ahead to ask about it, then I got stuck in mysterious traffic jams on the highway home on Saturday anyhow (signs announced that multiple exits would be closed throughout the day, but I couldn't find anything on the city transportation or state highway web site, and there was no news of a police funeral or anything similar that would cause the delay).

Anyhow, I think the way it works is that Ice Network posts the videos after the event. It seems that they get the events from the video vendors at each competition, so that could be why a live stream is not available. Still, at $30, I think it's a great bargain for the number of events available (entire USFS competitive season sans standard track nats, presumably because of TV rights deals for nats). The FS Channel that went kaput had much higher prices. (Funny thing is that anything that I downloaded and paid for thru FS Channel no longer has rights restrictions since they ended their relationship with USFS.)

...And congratulations, FrankR and others who skated! FrankR, I remember reading on one of the forums that you had not been sure about your move up to Gold Men. I think this can erase your doubts for sure! Great job!

As of now, there are still no results on the USFS website.
I'd also like to hear the Non Qual results as well and I have one question:
Why in the Eastern Section, the Non Qual portion of the competition is given another name (i.e. Colonial Adult Classic, etc), as opposed to just calling it all Adult Easterns? This isn't the case in the other sections.

Hi all,

Thanks so much for the support. It really means a lot. I really didn't know what to expect at this event. (I know I always say that but it's because it's true. lol) I was fortunate enough to feel good Saturday and put together a good skate. It was an honor to skate with everyone in my group and share ice with everyone over the past few days.

I have to thank my coaches and especially Edward who put on me on the ice yesterday. He was great. In warm-up, when I landed an axel and then promptly fell on a mazurka he didn't yell or laugh or anything.

I have to thank everyone in the crowd who watched my event. I haven't felt that excited in a program before and it was great to be able to share it with everyone who was watching.

Congratulations to all who skated and hopefully we'll see each other again in Chicago.

Frank

Congrats to all!

Would be nice to see all the results!

I guess Eastern Sectional is not as important as Pacific Sectional. Come on USFSA!

I don't think it is USFSA, the Loc must send or fax the results to the webmaster at USFSA it's not that one is more important that the other.

It is up to the LOC to put up the other results on their website, but that might take a few days. The ice network has had the adult sectionals and nationals on their list for a long time but it will take a while for those to get up. I notice upper great lake regionals took several months, the ice network has to negioate for the video so hopefully it will be soon I would like to see how everyone skated.

Frank's program was awesome. Not only was it technically superb, the excitement was electrifying! The huge round of applause was well deserved. I was thrilled to be there to yell and clap for such a great performance.

I had an awesome time at Sectionals, saw some wonderful skating, and I really enjoyed meeting everyone from SF and lots of new and old friends. The team event was especially fun. I am so sad I won't be at Nationals, but I'll be back next year for sure!

Sending results to Headquarters is the Chief Accountant's responsibility. Whether there's anyone in Headquarters on a weekend evening to receive and post them is an issue out of LOC control. I do know that one of the Eastern accountants is a computer genius so I doubt if the delay originates there.

As for posting non-qual results to the club website, again it's the accountant's job to prepare the file (it's a couple clicks in the program) and hand it off to the LOC's webperson. That's usually done at the end of each day or at the end of the competition. How quickly the LOC's web guru gets it uploaded probably depends on what elce the guru has been doing during the competition. People wear many hats during a large event like this - and even gurus have to sleep sometime.

I got to see bits and pieces in between other committments and just want to say congratulations to Jason Spicer and Mike Finley (4th in Silver Men I). Great skating, guys!
