Well, I'm finally all moved in down here in SoCal (and finally back online) and have even had a chance to get back on the ice. My first week down here I met some truly nice adult skaters, one of whom referred me to her coach. I've had two lessons with my new coach so far and things seem to be going well. Luckily, my skating transition has been a smooth one.

Two weeks ago I went home for the COI show in Oakland. Our seats were front row, center ice, and if you haven't guessed by the title of my post: I was attacked by Phillippe! He finished up a spin during the entry segment right in front of me, saw me, and then walked right over the flowers and lights to give me a hug and a kiss on the neck. Talk about unexpected! I hugged him back, but was laughing too hard to say anything (he seemed to be hugging me for a while). I am very thankful, however, that he still had his shirt on. It could have been worse I guess . . . he asked some woman on the other side of the rink to smack his bottom during his performance! I had to share with you guys because one of my first thoughts was that you all might get a kick out of hearing it.

Great story! You must have been shocked! When we went to COI, one of my mom's friends in our group was Philippe's opening number hug designee. You should have seen the look on her face when he jumped over the boards and came right at her!
