Physical Basis of "Muscle Memory"

You really need to read the whole story to understand why the experimental results are so interesting, but the part that concerns what we call "muscle memory" can be found if you do a search on "series of studies". NYT story on the death of Henry Molaison, aka patient "H.M."

Thanks! & who else finds this fascinating: "In a series of studies, Mr. Molaison soon altered forever the understanding of learning by demonstrating that a part of his memory was fully intact. ---Each time he tried the experiment, it seemed to him an entirely new experience. Yet he gradually became more proficient — showing that there are at least two systems in the brain for memory, one for events and facts and another for implicit or motor learning, for things like playing a guitar or riding a bicycle." - iow, another evidence showing more, much more, is possible...

Mostly, people's beliefs about what is possible, is determined for them by parents not knowing better, by religeous authorities afraid to be open-minded, & by scientists & doctors heretofore not considering greater realities. -

Following especially cutting-edge medicine findings, as they relate to us living outside, the box of the box - kinda like What really is possible, can lead to further individual discoveries.

I read about him, and a bunch of other fascinating cases in "A Brief Tour of Human Consciousness: From Impostor Poodles to Purple Numbers." It's a really interesting book, the brain is fascinating.
