Boot fitting: Austin or DFW area?

I am currently stuck in a state without any good boot fitters. I've decided Jackson Competitors will just not work for my feet. They feel fine when I'm not skating, but I can't handle them while I am skating. I even went to a used pair of wider competitors, but even the wider more broken in skate is too tight on my toe box. It's so hard to tell, because they feel fine before I get on the ice.

I have no choice but to go out of state for a fitting. Previously, I had thought I would make the trip to Omaha or Chicago, but now I'm wondering if I should try to do this on my trip home to Texas.

I will only have one or two days in either city, so I won't be able to do any follow up. But do either of these cities have an INCREDIBLE fitter that would be worth going to, in hopes that the boots will work without follow up?

It's unlikely if I went to Omaha or Chicago, I'd be able to do a second visit anyhow, so this might be worth it. Does someone have a fitter they recommend in either Austin or DFW?

Here in Austin at Chaparral Ice they have a lot of good skate professionals here. Charles Collins is excellent-you can email him at ccollins@chaparralice.com to set up an appointment. And while you're down here, look me up & we'll go skate together

I wish I could- unfortunately i'm only flying into austin because it was over $50 cheaper than flying into Dallas. So my mom is picking me up at the airport, we are going to Freebirds then heading to Dallas. On Monday we'll head back from Dallas, stop by to see my other nephew, go out to lunch and then back to the airport. (My mom and Dad we already having to drive to Dallas, so that part does actually make sense) I just figured if there was a really fanastic boot fitter, we could cancel lunch and fit that in.

Thanks for the recommendation- if the appointment to punch out my boots next week doesn't work out I'll give him a call and see what kind of skates he fits and if they might work out for me to set up an appointment.
