Where to buy ice dance music?

Does anyone know where I can buy the music we use for ice dance? I have just started learning the Preliminary dances and it would be great to have my own copy of the music to play when I practice.

Thanks!

ISU has CDs with the Pre-Silver and higher compulsory dances.

Other than that, it's hard to find the lower level dances. If you check out the icedancers mailing list on groups.yahoo.com, there is a gentleman there who has several compilations that he makes available upon request. I don't know his prices though. But if you join the icedancers (all one word) group, and introduce yourself, then ask, someone should be able to point you towards some selections.

Also... you can get MP3s of dance tunes here..

I got my copy of the dance music from my coach... he let me borrow his stuff.

Skate Canada sells a CD of all the compulsory dances in the Canadian system (so no rhythm blues, cha-cha or hickory hoedown). It's pricey though...

You can buy it on-line from their site: http://www.skatecanada.ca (You can get the ISU CDs from them too.)

The official ISU music is horrendously expensive, unless you can borrow the CDs from someone, but I know a source in the USA who sells recreational ice dance music very cheaply - email me or PM me and I'll let you have his name and email address (I don't care to post private individuals' details in a public forum).

You can download some of the ISU ones from Yahoo UKskatersmusic ... you may need to register but it doesn't cost anything and there's no obligation to make small talk ..... just go to the 'Files' section and they're there.

You can contact Rodney Hill at rod@ncassociates.com, he was at the Lake Placid dance competition selling CDs with all of the "new" ISU music. He had cds for all the dance levels and there are usually several levels per cd. I think that his prices were reasonable, but I don't remember what they were. JK
