Hi

Well, when I was still in London, I thought that I saw Dave Curtis in my rink. Only to be told by him in e-mail, that he only has 2 boys, and no girls at all.

Occasionally, saw one Dancing on Ice man, training with a coach.

Indeed, couldn't face the constant demands of my public.....

(Actually, when husbands ask you if you want to go skating when you are still 3/4 asleep, you are not exactly inclined to leap out of bed going "Yes, let's!" Had he waited another ten minutes, I'd have been well up for it.)

Well, I take lessons from "Michelle Kwan.". Does that count? (Those of you that do not know my primary coach is, I don't *really* take from Michelle.)

I am going to fully admit how much of a spoiled brat that I am. I see Jeremy Abbot, Allisa Csizny and several other skaters that are well known often (when they aren't traveling). This includes Yuka Sato who coaches. Several skaters from around the world come to skate where I am a member at. Yep. Spoiled.

I've actually skated with three folks. The first happened when I first started to skate. I saw this adult skater who was very good, =-), she reminded me of someone. . . I kept watching her and finally asked my coach. She laughed and said, "That's Rosalyn Sumners." Once she told me I knew. Since then I have skated with her a few times. She has been very nice to me and said some very kind things about my skating. (She liked my spirals. =-)) I had a lesson on the same ice as Rosalyn Sumners and Brian Orser once. My coach told me, "Put this one in the memory book!" I have. =-) This was before Brian was a coach. The best part of this memory was that it was just us four on the ice. Brian is very soft spoken and little. I've met Cindy Marshal as a coach. She is so cute! I just love this gal and am charmed by her personality. Talking to her is fun because she seems so down to earth. She is a lovely skater and a little ball of energy. I love to listen to her coach.

My daughter shared ice time with Kurt Browning a few years ago - and he kindly signed her skate afterwards. She's also been on the ice with Sasha Cohen, Emily Hughes, and too many National/International ranked skaters to list here - she has been blessed to have those experiences, all from her synchro team.

My ice dance coach will be at Nebelhorn so crossing my fingers that he qualifies for the O's and GETS famous!!

PS - he did!!!

Three years later and I've taken several lessons with them, but more importantly they have become my friends.
They are incredible supporters of adult skaters. They attend the Adult Skating shows and have a great time at the parties. They're one of the reasons Lake Placid is truly my skating heaven. : )

I used to skate with Shaun Rogers sometimes about 8 years ago. Everybody would go to the boards when he did his program, not because he was super famous, but because he was really fast and we didn't want to get run over.

My parents live about 5 minutes from a rink in Arlington (the one on top of the garage) and I have seen Tommy Steenberg and Christine Musademba there. They aren't super famous, but they are National level Senior skaters, so still distracting with the triples.

I usually enjoy being on the same ice as skaters that are very good. I get bored with the same skaters at my rink and it is nice to have new people around. And because I usually don't know them and they are much better than me, I try to prove to them that I don't suck (like they care ) so I work really hard.

Todd Eldredge skates at my rink. I've never skated with him, but sometimes while waiting for the coaches to call us on the ice for our lesson, I'll watch him skating on the freestyle ice session. He even gives private lessons, $52.50 per half hour

LOL- Our rink does this with pretty much anyone/pair over novice level.
The rink is pretty low level, so when they are doing programs, it's just easier to watch than try to yield.
