  • To get back to my idea skating weight
  • Dance 3-turns...............done correctly, tight feet, all of that impossible stuff
  • A freestyle coach that remembers to show up for lessons
  • No ice on the roads...........so I can get to the rink at 5:45am each morning without having my car twizzle down the freeway

You need to find yourself a new coach (or start telephoning the coach at 4 AM to wake him/her up!)

Thanks everyone (blush). Where else could I share MY version of Santa Baby without a bunch of very weird looks, LOL!

My husband thinks I should record it at a karaoke booth and use it for next year's Christmas program or interpretive program. . . Hmm. . . it DOES practically choreograph itself. . .

Oh, and for those of you who feel like Santa hasn't given you anything this year, don't forget to leave milk and cookies out, along with a note that says, "Santa, thanks for the skater's butt!"

Awww, Rob, I'm sorry to hear about your challenges with pairs partners and coaching changes. I hope Santa brings you at least one of the items on your list.

I'm not sure if this is an appropriate thread for me to be posting on since I'm Jewish, but here goes....

I'd like a reliable loop that actually looks like a jump, a flip with the same characteristics, a reliable backspin, a lower sit spin, and most importantly.....

a pass on Bronze MIF!!!! (please, please....!)

All of the above will then allow me to take and pass Bronze FS, so I can get to AN '07, since I didn't make '06 . (is it too early to start an AN 2007 support group?)

Dear Santa

I have been working on my flip-jump for nearly a year. My granddaughter has just landed her first loop jump and is starting her flip-jump this weekend. Santa - please may I have my flip BEFORE she gets hers???

Rob, sorry to hear about losing both a partner and a coach. Helen was great! I know you guys will miss her. And your partners (both of them!) were great, so even though you'll probably have success getting a new one, they'll be irreplacable!

Yeah, what she said!

You'll probably have potential new partners appearing in front of you soon. Pairs partners are in high demand!

Dear Santa,

I don't want to be totally selfish so instead I'm asking this for my coach. I would like a one foot spin. This would not only brighten my day but my coach could stop beating his head against the wall and stop wondering how I can manage a backspin but not a forward spin.

That's an idea! I'm actually wondering if this is a sign to give it up and focus on dance, however.

All I want is...

...some more natural endurance. The kind that doesn't go away after just one week off ice.

I had lunch with Sara yesterday. I finally got to see the new baby! She's adorable. Still only 6 1/2 lbs.

Sara said that she was going to try to go skate this weekend. Just to stroke around. She said she really misses it. She hasn't skated since April when the doctor and husband made her stop. So, she may be back soon.

And, I've started taking lessons with Davin Grindstaf - Championship Masters medallist the last 5 years at AN

I change my answer. All I want for Christmas is a med school interview. Just got my third rejection, over the phone nonetheless. Oh well, enough self pity. Just need one acceptance. Just one, I'm not asking for much.

I want to add:
a new sewing room with 40 amps of electricity for my machines (5 sewing machines, iron, stereo, tv, microwave, halogen lights, heater, etc).

I kept blowing the fuse today because my area of the basement was soooooo cold I had to plug in 2 space heaters and it's probably only 15 amps.

2 worktables, storage bins, shelves, lights!!! (for some reason, I don't see as well as when I was younger )

and a KEEP OUT sign so my kids don't bug me (with stupid stuff like "where's the ketchup?" when I'm trying to meet deadlines

*First and foremost I'd like my new skates to arrive! I think if I got them I could take care of the rest of this list, except maybe the last thing, on my own (knock on desk). But just in case...

*The ability to spin on a more regular basis

*A clean axel on a more regular basis

*More double toes like this morning

*More double sals like Monday morning

*My %^#$ American Waltz already!

*Pass my Silver Free in time for AN's- shouldn't be a problem, IF I get my new skates and fix my spins

*A partner for adult pairs. In what kind of just world do I get stuck being 5'1" and constantly being mistaken for being about eight years younger than I am (I'm not old enough for this to be a good thing quite yet) and yet I can't have a chance to try pairs?

I dont get a choice about what I want for Christmas... my coach has told me that I WILL start landing my double Salchow and double loop cleanly before she lets me leave on holidays.
What I want is to be able to go away for the holidays for 4 weeks and be able to come back and still have my axel!!!

I am in a similar situation. My home rink closed and I am trying to get 1 and maybe 2 sessions per week. I fill the gaps w/ running and aerobics. I have more stamina than ever. It transfers right too the ice. I always had good stamina, but nothing builds it like running and aerobics. Love them both.

Christmas Wishes

... A REAL toe loop (not the "waltzy" kind )
... A scratch spin (centered )
... A spiral that is stretched, flexible, long and on an outside edge.
