Announcement is posted!

Hey everyone! The announcement and application have been posted. Deadline is September 29.
Go to: www.iceworkssc.org.

Don't forget to get your Competitors Party tickets in advance. Space is limited. $20 in advance, $25 at the competition. It should be a lot of fun.

Hope to see you all in November!

Thanks for the update! Any takers for a Pre-Bronze/Bronze team? Will do any of the moves except for the spiral sequence....

I'm available for a silver - gold team. Good spiral sequence and layback or will do jumps and spins.

Thanks!

He had seen the ortho doc this past week and the news is...no cast, just the walking boot, he can move his ankle and wiggle his toes but cannot flex his arch or anything else. He is also to try to move around more (he has become quite the couch potato lately and getting very good at video games I'm afraid).

No skating until AFTER physical therapy. Probably mid-November. At the EARLIEST!!!

Don't Forget!

Hi everyone! Just a reminder that the postmark deadline for the Halloween Classic is one week from today (Saturday, Sept. 29). We've had a great response so far and are expecting a good turnout. And for any dancers out there who may be thinking about entering, we've had a number of dance teams (especially Bronze) enter already, so you'll be in good company!

As always, if you have any questions let me know!

Hope to see you ALL in November.

philly

I just took my doggie for an evening walk to the Post Office, and dropped my application in the mail box to get my 9/29 postmark! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in Philly!

Hey, flutzilla1, I sent you a PM with some more questions about the team event. (New developments since the last time we PM'd. I'm posting here in case you don't check your PMs often.)

A schedule would be nice! I was half tempted to send an ugly email in response to the competitors party email. How can I make plans to go to the party when I dont know what days/times I am competing?

Just doing Gold Moves and Gold/Silver Team event.

Did you just get an email about that schedule, Tim?

I'm not registered for the competition, but I was sent an email with a schedule link. Wasn't sure if it was legit - I'm not registered for this comp, but I was on the info mailing list.

Just curious - I don't want to add them to the SPAM list if it's for real.

Thanks - I worried since it wasn't a link to a club page.

I am registered for the competition and have not received any official e mail. Also, I noticed on the schedule posted by TimDavid - where is the Spin competition?

OK, never mind - I see on the official website that the spins are coming soon. I tried to delete this entry and didn't see how to do it.

Has everyone been receiving e mail updates about the competition? I'm worried that my application has been lost, because I haven't been receiving anything. I just sent them an e mail to ask.

I also sent them an e-mail to ask. I had included my e-mail address on the application (and had received a question earlier about my application), but I didn't receive the e-mailed schedule. The web site says something about registering one's e-mail to receive updates about the schedule and practice ice, but I could't figure out where/how to do that on the web site itself.

I think the schedule has another error--the version I downloaded lists Ladies Bronze FS I twice (once combined with Ladies Bronze FS II and once on its own). I e-mailed them to let them know about that, too. (I think the one on its own could have been a typo for Ladies Bronze FS IV, but I'm not sure...)

That's why I thought the schedule email was spam at first. I'm not registered for anything at this competition, but I did sign up through their website for information. (I was thinking of coming to watch.)

I just signed up on the website - maybe that is why others had received updates and I had not. I was just starting to panic that my application might be lost. I've been preparing my new freestyle program for this competition, taken time off from work to attend, and paid for a hotel, plus I'm captain of a team - I have to go!

FYI, people using Firefox (for Mac or PC) or Safari (for Mac) browsers may not be able to see the spot on the competition web site where one can sign up for e-mail updates.

I was completely stumped as to where to sign up for e-mails. It turns out that my browsers are not showing the e-mail signup area on the left side of the competition home page (it appears to be layered under the rest of the page, inaccessible). I was able to find it by searching the site with Google--a cached version of the home page (accessed by IP address rather than the other URL) shows the e-mail signup box.

2007 Halloween Classic

A revised schedule with spins and full-ice masters/gold compulsory moves has been posted:

http://www.helgayang.net/HC_Files/fo...HCSchedule.pdf

By the way, I just found out that PhillySkater's birthday is November 3rd. She is going to be at the competitor's party, so let's be sure to embarass her

Instead, Hippo can buy Phillyskater a drink since she'll definitely need one by then.
