Probably not going anywhere this year due to finances (had been planning on Sun Valley), but can people report back on the ice dance track at Ice House? Like, what they work on, if they're doing mainly low/mainly high stuff, etc? Any partnering work? That might be a good option in the future.
There is some partnering work, but it's limited. I did get to partner with Peter T, though, so

They do both low and high stuff. We moved from basic stroking to swing rolls to chasses (stuff even the elite continue to work on) up to rockers and twizzles and etc. We worked on elements from specific dances, as well as choreography in general.

Question for those of you who went to Ice house last year:
I REALLY want to do the competitive track since I think it will be more intensive and that is what I want. However, I have yet to compete/test. I know the Pre-Pre/ Pre-Bronze MITF and most of the Prel/Bronze MITF. I can do thru a lutz and will hopefully soon be working on an axel. Would I be appropriate for the competitive group? Is it OK to be in that group if you want to compete in the very near future but havent yet? Or should I stick with the rec track? Thanks!

Tell me about it!

Our elites are currently doing some of the exact same exercises that we did all winter and still do now. It is even worse when you hear the corrections they're getting on them, when you already know that your waltz 3s look nothing like his waltz 3s, your variable-speed cross-rolls are flat and pathetic compared to hers, and your chassés in waltz hold bear no relation at all to theirs?

I'm seriously considering doing Sun Valley this year. How is the split between Dance and Freestyle? From the schedule, it looks more dance oriented but still have a good amount of freestyle, which would be perfect for me!
