What's the Best Site for Skating Updates, Gossip etc?

Where I live we get televised skating only when the Olympics are in progress. For the other 3 years and 50 weeks, nothing. Nothing in the newspapers either.

Leading up to the 2010 Olympics, I would really like to have a better knowledge of who is skating now, who's winning, who's up & coming, who's got potential but keeps crashing out, a bit of the gossip, the background stories, etc.

Any recommendations on the best internet sites for finding out what's happening in the world of skating?

Agreed. The truly insane fanatics hang out there. The extra $7 or so to get access to the "Kiss & Cry" forum on FSU is well worth it because there is always someone blogging about every major competition in real time.

I agree - all great sites.

www.icenetwork.com is the "official" site that often has news and names, but they keep to the nice-nice stories.

FSU has the lowdown dirt about who spit on who (whom?) and who stomped off when unhappy with their results.
It's fun to watch the skating and read the play-by-plays, esp. with the colorful hair and apparel comments about everyone - skaters, judges, spectators, coaches, zam driver, lol.

What about Unseen Skaters? I think Sylvia is active on that site.
I loved their coverage of Eastern Sectionals last year, mainly because we (the twins and I) were there at the same time.

I find Unseen Skaters particularly good for results/reports from the larger club competitions and Regionals/Sectionals in the US. However, I'v found that objective discussion tends to be more difficult than other forums, as there are lots of parents and skaters themselves on that board. At the level of skating typically discussed there (sub-elite), what's the point of being overly critical?

FSU has a much more international bend. Kaz, you're in Oz right?

Yes, I'm in Oz. I'm looking for the international picture, just so I have background on what's happening in the wider worls of skating, the big competitions etc.
