I've got a competition comming up at the end of the week and I am REALLY nervous. Does anyone have any relaxation tips-you know, for before I get on the ice?
thanks

Good slow deep breathing (from the diaphram).

Within reason take your time getting out there but please do NOT use the entire 1 or 2 minutes that a skater is entitled to take.

As you get in position, fuss a bit to relax the legs that last little bit.

If you're not the first skater in your group, don't feel you HAVE to watch the skaters ahead of you. I don't (for dance)... I stand or sit with my coach and chit-chat and mentally count how many times the music has re-started. Then we get on and I joke about "let's get this show over and done with"
