Speaking of pre bronze - well balanced?

I keep reading that there are now requirements for a well-balanced PB program...but when I got the stuff for the adult midwesterns, all I saw was requirements for bronze and up and The PDF guide on the USFSA site starts with Bronze...so where is this mythical requirement?

There were well-balanced program requirements for Pre-Bronze last year, too. Changes were made to the WBP for Bronze and up at last year's Governing Council to reflect/account for the use of the new judging system at AN (and qual events at Sectionals) for Gold and Masters levels. Although Bronze and Silver are being judged under the 6.0 system, the WBP for those levels was changed to bring the jump and spin restrictions in line with those for Gold and Masters.

While the WBP for Pre-Bronze did not officially change this year, some comp committees have chosen to restrict jumps and spins for Pre-Bronze to bring that level in line with the others. That is allowed for non-qual comps. For Sectionals, even though Pre-Bronze (and any other non-Champ event) is considered Non-Qualifying, it looks like the committee is following the USFSA WBP, which for Pre-Bronze would be the same as last year. I suspect the announcement didn't include anything about the WBP for Pre-Bronze b/c there were no changes from last year's rulebook. My understanding is that the first printing of this year's rulebook did not include the correct changes for the higher levels, so I guess the committee wanted to include them in the announcement so everyone would be aware of them, and the guide you saw on the USFSA website was put there to correct the rulebook.

If you don't have a copy of last year's rulebook, the PB WBP essentially are: half jumps and singles through flip are allowed (no lutz, axel, or doubles), at least 2 and no more than 3 spins, no more than 3 jump combos, no flying spins. There is also a requirement for something like "connecting steps throughout the program", although it doesn't specifically require a footwork sequence.

Thank you. Looks like I'm good. I was afraid there might be something hard in there I couldn't do. I'd like to have a well balanced program even coming in last I know I should have an up to date book, but I was so ticked off when I got last years and it didnt fit my old binder...and now I have to buy a new binder too.

I think doubletoe's notes came from http://www.sk8stuff.com/f_rules/sing...ng_adu_std.htm, aka: Don Korte's site. It's usually up to date with the latest rulebook changes, so it's a handy place to check. I bought a copy of the USFSA rulebook in pdf format. I'm such a geek that I prefer to use a Search function to leafing through the book. I've printed out a few pages for on-ice reference, rather than carrying the whole book.
