Sports psychology books?

Any recommendations? I prefer ones that aren't faith- or chicken soup-based. Thanks!

The one written by Choleen, the adult Masters pairs skater, check for her last name on the USFS site under the 2007 AN results.

It is a VERY GOOD one, and works for any sport, not just for skating! I have it and it is on loan to another skater right now.....I'm thinking i should call her so I can get it back.....

The very best for female atheletes: Games Girls Play: Understanding and Guiding Young Female Athletes, by Caroline Silby, who was once a competitive figure skater and now works with many highly competitive figure skaters, gymnasts, tennis players, and other world class athletes.

Yes, I think it would. It's a great book. Caroline Silby works with many world class and Olympic athletes, many of whom are not particularly young. Her techniques should be applicable to anyone, although she touches on the particular issues of adolescents. Regardless of this, her methods (focusing on things you can control, using training "cues" on which you rely during competition, etc.) should be help anyone who has issues relating to training and competing.
