Evelyn Kramer's Coat

When I was up in Lake Placid at Adult Skate Camp, I went to the second hand skating store at the LP rink. While I was there I picked up Evelyn Kramer's old custom made Blue Sky PSA coat for fifty bucks as a winter dog walking coat. I never met MS Kramer (the Spin Doctor), but her coat fits perfectly so she must be about 5'4". And it is one *fine* coat--the heck with dog walking in it. Once it went under 40 F I started wearing it to work. I haven't been this toasty warm since I gave up fur lined leather overcoats. Those PSA coaches really know something about staying warm!

The only problem with the coat is that it is decorated with several large sparkly 'thingys' about the size of my hand that you might see on a costume. They appear to be hot glued on. Anyone know how to get them off?

Sorry, don't know how to do that, but I have one of those PSA coats that I bought new and cringed at the cost. Four years later, three of which I worked outside, I can say it was one of the best purchases I have ever made.

Google gave me these links: remove hot glue

Evelyn coaches at my rink (and I just saw her today)--I will ask her about the coat!

What happens if it turns out she forgot it at the rink and it was given away without her knowledge? LOL I'm just kidding. Sort of. A lot of the schools and childcare programs down here do that with lost and found stuff at the end of each semester.

One rink I worked at had doubled staff jackets that a lot of people didn't like. (My outer jacket wore out, but I still use the inner one. I love the zippered breast pockets - one inside, one outside.) One of the other coaches told me that, after her last day teaching there (she moved), she literally left the rink and drove to the clothing donation box at a nearby lot and tossed the jacket in because she hated that jacket so much. She said it was like wearing a plastic bag because it was heavy nylon.

I like the PSA jackets, but I'm satisfied with my new rink jacket, which is the exact same colors as my last rink staff jacket and the PSA jacket. I always have a backup in a pinch!

Totally OT: This thread would make a great title for a book.

"Agnes Nitt has Evelyn Kramer's Coat!"

LOL

Steven King Version:
Evelyn's spirit haunts coat and makes it wearer spin themselves to death

Michael Connelly version
Agnes skate trampled body minus coat is found at center ice during freestyle and Harry Bosch has to solve the mystery of why the coat was so valuable.

Dana Gabaldon version
Hunky scottish highlander wears Evelyn Kramer's coat over his kilt, in between ice dance sessions Agnes 'gets lucky' about every 150 pages of an 800 page book that needs some serious editing. There's not much more plot than that, except they time travel back to the 1932 Olympics and take gold in ice dance.

Stephanie Meyer version
Sexy vampire...blah,blah, blah,.....sexy vampire....blah, blah,blah

Ooh, I like this!
How about the New York Times Review of Depressing Books Version:

Dysfunctional impoverished family, torn apart by incestuous relationships, finds Evelyn Kramer's Coat when they sleep overnight in Agnes' car after they become homeless. The teen-aged daughter wears the coat and is mistaken for a high-level coach and begins giving lessons at Lake Placid, whereupon both Agnes and Evelyn Kramer recognize the coat and must choose between exposing the homeless dysfunctional sexually abused teenager and destroying her fragile new-found respectability, or letting a fake PSA professional continue to give bad lessons to young children. The coat becomes a metaphor for class struggle in America. Everybody cries.

LOL! I've been rereading the Outlander series and this mental image was too good. Makes me want to write it up as a fanfiction.
