Need to know the artist!

Just wondering if anyone knows the artist that sings, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" in that slow "bluesey" manner. Sarah Hughes skated to in in this year's Stars on Ice show. Thanks! Jeanette

Maybe it's the version done by the late Hawaiian singer Israel Kamakawiwa'ole (just winging it on the spelling there), which is a mix of Somewhere Over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World? I haven't seen the program you mean, but it might be this. It was used in the movie Meet Joe Black and (I think) in the ending credits of Finding Forrester. It's available on the soundtrack for Meet Joe Black, and it's about 9 minutes long.

It could be Eva Cassidy (sorry I don't know for sure but I know that she does a nice version). Also Ella Fitzgerald recorded a version too if it's an older version that you're thinking about

Yeah, one of my friends said it was Eva Cassidy too, so that should be the one. The Hawaiian version is very nice, but I love the Cassidy version. Thanks for the input buddies!

Love her...

Yes, Sarah's "Over the Rainbow" is definitely Eva Cassidy, as was MK's "Fields of Gold".
