Leggings

Believe it or not, i have several pairs of leggings from the 80's when they went with the big/long sweaters, and they are finally wearing out! I loved them and they were really inexpensive, but thick enough to keep warm.

Now, i am finding they are running more than $20 a pair and i think that is a little pricey (or i am still living in the past.) Any idea where to get them in different colors, good quality (not too thin) and a good price?

Thanks!

I've seen them in Target, they're usually not too expensive.

I don't think $20 or so is too bad, considering today's leggings have lycra and seem to fit better than the ones from the 80's (or am i just in better shape)?

Target, tons of them!!!

here is something neat (did a google search for "leggings"):
http://stockingirl.com/Merchant2/mer...e_Code=miccina

tons of patterns there! Not sure how thick they are or the quality tho

then there is also:

I think they supply stores but this is there online store.

Here's an idea, do you have 2nd hand stores around, and stores that sell all kinds of unused junk that spent a decade being stored somewhere?
I got my 2 pair of leggins from the last type for 1 euro a piece.

I was just out doing post Christmas shopping and found that Sears has a motherload of leggings, all under $30 for the most part.
I may buy a new pair with a coordinating tee as a practice outfit for Easterns in March.

good timing - leggings seem to be back in style! I'm not sure about where to find inexpensive ones though. Everytime I see them, I picture myself with poufed bangs and a gigantic sweater...can't make myself buy a pair now

don't forget the WIDE BELT and the ripped sweatshirt!!!!!

I'm fairly lucky that I can sew, they are so easy to make, it's just finding the time and fabric (all mailorder because our stores here suck). Yeah, so I've sewn NONE!!!! although I did buy a few pair last year from vic secret & boston proper when they hit clearance (they are the only ones that carry LONGS).

You guys are a hoot! Yes, i still remember that 80's look, but now the sweaters are back with the leggings again, and i think the sweaters this time around are way cuter!

I found some for $18 in JCPenny catalog, have to find out if the quality is good. Several choices of colors, though. I guess my mind for pricing is still in the 80's, too! haha

If you can fit into kids sizes I got some Circo leggings at Target on sale for under $4.

I'm going back for more- they are GREAT for skating.

Although the legwarmers are adorable, it is the leggings i am looking for (like footless tights, but nice and warm, and smooth.
