Help ideas needed!

Rookie choreographer here needs some help with a music box dancer themed carnival number. There is 5 girls in the number and the music is called the skaters waltz. I'm thinking of incorporating some dance steps ballet if possible and ice dance steps.. from some waltzes.. I was also thinking of having field moves and split jumps in it.. Any help is greatly appreciated..

What are the test levels for the skaters for freeskate and dances (I'm Canadian, I understand our system, looks like you're Canadian too)

The lowest skaters in the group are working on their senior silver dances, 4 have their gold dances.

Hmmm ... then they would all be familiar with Starlight - yes? That's a pretty waltz, and you could utilize the patterns in it. Simultaneous shadow Starlights are very elegant. The Senior Silver dancers could be overly challenged if you throw in the Vienesse or the Westminster, and those two look better partnered, anyways - and the Gold dancers should be able to do the Starlight easily. If you're using dance dresses, the split jumps could be hazardous, if the skirts are long.

Some high-level dancers don't do freeskate, in my experience. However, you could definitely incorporate dance steps in rather than field moves .

Do you have access to a guy who can partner them? I've seen nice choreo where one gentleman moves from skater to skater and twirls them through a sequence while the others dance the steps in unison in the surroundings.
